What the inspector wrote

A prelicensing inspection was conducted today by Licensing Program Analyst (LPA), J. Snow. LPA met with facility representative Krystal Arnot. Applicant is requesting to add toddlers to the existing license. 125406548 LITTLE LEARNERS CENTER which will be converted to a Single license. Applicant applied for 30 toddlers and 30 preschool but the capacity was reduced due to lack of square footage. Processed an application for #27, toddler, age 18-36 months and #27 preschool children today. Facility occupies the entire building. Hours of operation will be Monday -Friday, #7:30 am to #5:30 pm. The facility is located on school grounds. The indoor and outdoor activity spaces were toured, and the facility sketch was verified. The following areas will be off limits to children: the kitchen with door locks. There is a full kitchen to store/prepare meals, facility provides 2 snacks. Children will nap on mats in the classroom. The isolation area for sick children will be located in the office. The outdoor play area is fully fenced. There are no climbing structures; applicant requesting a shared play yard for the preschool & toddler children. The poisons are locked in detached shed. There is safe and age appropriate furniture, toys, and play equipment available for children. A capacity worksheet was completed during the visit. The inside, room square footage measured 1,900. Children have access to at least 4 toilets & sinks. Based on above, which is sufficient for the requested capacity. The outside, yard square footage measured 3,240 which was NOT sufficient requiring a yard waiver. The following items need to be completed prior to the granting the license within 30 days: 1. Yard Waiver approval For childcare center licenses issued after July 1, 2022, the licensee shall test their water for lead within 180 days of licensure pursuant to Written Directives section 101700 (PIN 21-21.1- CCP). If the facility has had a lead test completed within the last five years from the pre-licensing visit date (8/5/2025) and is using the same outlets, you may submit a waiver request from the lead testing requirement to the Regional Office. Criminal Record Clearance - Child Care Centers: Krystal Arnot was reminded that all adults 18 and over responsible for administration or direct supervision of staff, persons who provides care and supervision to children, and staff who have contact with children, including employees and volunteers, except as specified in Health and Safety Code section 1596.871, must obtain a criminal record clearance or exemption, or transfer their existing clearance or exemption, prior to initial presence in a Child Care Center. A civil penalty of $100.00 minimum/day for a maximum of 5-days or, if the penalty is for a repeat violation, for a maximum of 30-days per person will be assessed if this regulation is violated. APPLICANT KNOWS PROSPECTIVE CLIENTS WILL NEED IMS: This facility plans to provide Incidental Medical Services \342\200\223 IMS. For IMS information, see PIN 22-02-CCP. A Plan of Operation that includes IMS must be submitted to the Department. Safe Sleep (for infant centers)\342\200\223 Child Care Centers and Family Child Care Homes: LPA discussed the safe sleep regulations with Krystal Arnot and discussed the Child Care Licensing Safe Sleep webpage at: https://www.cdss.ca.gov/inforesources/child-care-licensing/public-information-and-resources/safe-sleep , as an additional resource. LPA also informed [applicant, licensee, or facility representative] of the importance of checking for recalled infant devices on the United States Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) website at: https://www.cpsc.gov/ , and recommended they register all infant devices with the CPSC to be notified of any recalls on their purchased equipment. MyChildCarePlan.org--Child Care Centers and Family Child Care Home: Kystal Arnotwas informed of the MyChildCarePlan.org site, a consumer education website that helps families obtain child care by connecting them to child care providers and Resource and Referral Agencies (R&Rs) throughout California. Notice of Site Visit for licensed facilities only - Child Care Centers and Family Child Care Homes: A notice of site visit was given to Krystal Arnot and must remain posted on, or immediately adjacent to, the interior side of the main door for 30 days.
