What the inspector wrote
On February 4, 2026, at 1:05PM, Licensing Program Analyst (LPA), Vicky Williamson conducted an unannounced Annual Random inspection. LPA met with Licensee Martha Gonzalez and discussed the purpose of the inspection. There were six daycare children present, two of whom are infants. Days and hours of operation are Monday through Friday, 6:00AM to 4:00PM.
License submitted a family child care home application requesting a decrease in capacity from 14 children to 8 children on August 21, 2025. This is a single level, four (4) bedrooms, two (2) bathroom home. LPA accompanied by the licensee toured the indoor and outdoor of the home.
The following areas are used for day care: living room (daycare room), bathroom 2 (hallway), front yard and fenced side yard. Off limit areas include the kitchen, dining room, bedroom #1 (master bedroom), bathroom #1 (inside of master), bedroom #2, bedroom #3, fenced backyard, and the garage. They are made inaccessible to children through doorknob covers, safety gates and fencing. The licensee is reminded that children should always be supervised during outdoor activities. LPA advised the Licensee that prior to making alterations or additions to the home or grounds, the Licensee shall notify the Department of the proposed change.
Licensee stated there are no bodies of water on the premises. LPA observed no swimming pools or other bodies of water on the premises during time of inspection. Licensee stated there are no firearms, other weapons, or ammunition in the home. The fire extinguisher, smoke and carbon monoxide detectors meet requirements and are operational. All poisons, detergents, cleaning compounds, medications and other hazardous items in the home are made inaccessible to children through latches, locks, and/or placed on high surfaces. Licensee has children's toys, play equipment and books available. Licensee has a home working cell phone.

Licensee was reminded that all adults 18 and over living or working in the home, including employees and volunteers, except as specified in Health and Safety Code section 1596.871, must obtain a criminal record clearance or exemption, or transfer their existing clearance or exemption, prior to initial presence in a licensed Family Child Care Home. A civil penalty of $100.00 minimum/day for a maximum of 5 days or, if the penalty is for a repeat violation, for a maximum of 30 days per person will be assessed if this regulation is violated.
Pediatric CPR/First Aid certification for licensee is valid through March 2027. The licensee has the required immunization records on file. Mandated Reporter training certification for licensee is valid through January 9, 2027. LPA informed licensee to ensure the mandated reporter training is completed once every two years. LPA observed the required documents posted. A sample of children\342\200\231s files were reviewed and were determined to be complete. LPA's review of Individual Infant Sleeping Plans and documentation of 15-minute sleep checks are being maintained. The last fire drill was conducted and documented on January 7, 2026.

LPA discussed the safe sleep regulations with licensee and discussed the Child Care Licensing Safe Sleep webpage at

as an additional resource. LPA also informed licensee of the importance of checking for and removing any recalled infant devices on the United States Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) website at

and recommended they register all infant devices with the CPSC to be notified of any recalls on their purchased equipment.
Licensee is reminded that corporal punishment, smoking, exersaucers, bouncy seats, walkers, and jumpers and/or similar equipment are not allowed in daycare. The licensee was also provided with information regarding SIDS, Lead Exposure and Shaken Baby Syndrome. See LIC 809C Continuation...

LPA discussed the maximum capacity for a small family child care home: four infants only (infants mean any children under 24 months);
or
six children with no more than three infants;
or
, with landlord consent, eight children with no more than two infants, one child in kindergarten or elementary school and one child at least age six, including children under age 10 who live in the home.
Licensee completed the Health and Safety Issues Family Child Care Regulation 102417 form during time of inspection.
During the exit interview, the Licensee Martha Gonzalez, confirmed that there are no Registered Sex Offenders living in the facility and LPA completed the RSO profile in FAS.
