What the inspector wrote
A prelicensing inspection was conducted today by Licensing Program Analyst (LPA), J. Snow. LPA met with facility representative Gina Wood. Applicant is requesting to be licensed for (28 children as follows: 20 preschool, age 2-6 & 8 toddlers age 18-36 months. Facility uses the entire building. Hours of operation will be Monday -Friday, 7:45am to 4pm.
The indoor and outdoor activity spaces were toured, and the facility sketch was verified. The following areas will be off limits to children: the kitchen. These areas have been made inaccessible by means of a lock. There is a full kitchen to store/prepare meals. Children will nap on mats in the classroom. The isolation area for sick children will be located in the office. The changing table is located in the classroom.
The outdoor play area is fully fenced. It will be shared by toddlers and preschool children. There is no pool, spa, pond, fountain, or any other body of water on the premises. The poisons are locked in cabinets. There is safe and age appropriate furniture, toys, and play equipment available for children.
A capacity worksheet was completed during the visit. The inside, room square footage measured 1,214 square footage. Children have access to at least 4 toilets & sinks. The outside, yard square footage measured 2,604 square footage. continued

The following items need to be completed prior to the granting the license:

Waiver approval \342\200\223 shared preschool/toddler yard. Send updated request.
For childcare center licenses issued after July 1, 2022, the licensee shall test their water for lead within 180 days of licensure pursuant to Written Directives section 101700 (PIN 21-21.1- CCP).
If the facility has had a lead test completed within the last five years from the pre-licensing visit date 7/22/25 and is using the same outlets, you may submit a waiver request from the lead testing requirement to the Regional Office.
Criminal Record Clearance - Child Care Centers:
Gina Wood was reminded that all adults 18 and over responsible for administration or direct supervision of staff, persons who provides care and supervision to children, and staff who have contact with children, including employees and volunteers, except as specified in Health and Safety Code section 1596.871, must obtain a criminal record clearance or exemption, or transfer their existing clearance or exemption, prior to initial presence in a Child Care Center. A civil penalty of $100.00 minimum/day for a maximum of 5-days or, if the penalty is for a repeat violation, for a maximum of 30-days per person will be assessed if this regulation is violated.
