What the inspector wrote

On 7/22/25, Licensing Program Analyst (LPA), V. Wheatley conducted a case management inspection regarding an incident that occurred June 18, 2025 whereby Child #1 was injured. Per the licensee she was present and the child jumped off a small children's chair and injured his lip. The licensee administered first aid and contacted the parent. The child was taken to the doctor and received two stiches. Licensee reported the incident to the Department. Licensee states she removed the small chair that the child was injured on and moved to another area in the day care. The child returned to the day care the next week. On June 23, 2025 the same child was playing and arguing over a toy with another child. The child tripped over his own feet and the lip wound opened up. The parent arrived shortly after the incident and took the child to the doctor. Chid #1 returned to the day care on July 1, 2025. Today, LPA observed five day care children present of which three children are under 2 years old. LPA observed the licensee supervising the children properly. LPA inspected the day care and did not observe any hazards. LPA advised the licensee that no chairs may be stacked. LPA spoke to parent who stated the child likes to climb and she viewed a video of the Child #1 incident. Based on LPA's observance, inspection and interviews, there are no deficiencies cited. Licensee has made some adjustments and rearranged some of the furniture. Exit interview conducted. Report read and provided to the licensee.
