What the inspector wrote

On 2/10/26, Licensing Program Analyst (LPA), V. Wheatley conducted an unannounced Annual inspection and was met by Licensee, Gabriela Garcia Williams. LPA observed 8 children in care today with Licensee and the licensee's assistant. Licensee's spouse was also present. At 1pm another assistant arrived and the other one left. All adults have a criminal record clearance. Operating hours are Monday through Friday from 7:30am to 5:30pm. LPA toured the home inside and outside. This is a 2 bedrooms, 1 bathroom home with living room, dining area, kitchen, laundry room and covered outdoor patio and attached converted garage. The converted garage is being used as the licensee's bedroom and is off-limits. The areas that are accessible to children: Bedrooms 1 and 2, living room, backyard with covered patio, kitchen and bathroom. Licensee provides care and supervision while children are playing in the large backyard. LPA observed several age appropriate toys and two storage units in the back yard. LPA Wheatley is requesting a fence or child proof gate to be placed near the white storage area. The areas that are off limits to children: Attached converted garage which is made inaccessible by a safety gate and the laundry room. Licensee states the children do not use the dining table. This area is now designated as off-limits. Detergents, cleaning compounds, medication and other hazardous items are made inaccessible to children. No poisons were observed during the inspection. There is a charged fire extinguisher located in the kitchen serviced on 12/2025. The facility has a working smoke detectors and carbon monoxide detector (dual). LPA observed fully stocked first aid kit. The facility has adequate heating and ventilation for safety and comfort with central air and heating. There are no stairs in the home. The home has working telephone service and LPA confirmed the phone number. PAGE 2 Licensee ensures that children in care are supervised at all times and is aware children shall not be left in parked vehicles. Car seats are used for transportation purposes only and are not used for sleeping children. Capacity as specified on the license is being maintained. LPA reviewed a sample of children\342\200\231s files and observed files were complete with emergency information as required. Licensee\342\200\231s and licensee's two assistant's Mandated Reporter Training expires October 2027. Licensee and licensee's two assistant pediatric CPR/First Aid expires on July 2026 . A review of records indicates that all employees and/or volunteers have immunization records on file for influenza, pertussis and measles. Licensee conducts fire drills with the children and uses a bell. LPA observed the fire drill and earthquake drill log. LPA observed a current children's roster. Licensee was reminded that all adults 18 and over living or working in the home, including employees and volunteers, except as specified in Health and Safety Code section 1596.871, must obtain a criminal record clearance or exemption, or transfer their existing clearance or exemption, prior to initial presence in a licensed Family Child Care Home. A civil penalty of $100.00 minimum/day for a maximum of 5 days or, if the penalty is for a repeat violation, for a maximum of 30 days per person will be assessed if this regulation is violated. Safe Sleep - LPA discussed the safe sleep regulations with licensee and observed infants sleeping properly on their backs. LPA observed the sleeping log used for the infants up to two years old. LPA also informed licensee [or facility representative] of the importance of checking for recalled infant devices on the United States Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) website at https://www.cpsc.gov/ and recommended they register all infant devices with the CPSC to be notified of any recalls on their purchased equipment. PAGE 3 Licensee was informed of the MyChildCarePlan.org website; a consumer education website that helps families obtain child care by connecting them to child care providers and Resource and Referral Agencies (R&Rs) throughout California. LPA discussed with the licensee the Community Care Licensing website www.ccld.ca.gov which will provide access to Provider Information Notices (PINs), Quarterly Updates, and Resources, Mandated Reporter Training, Safe Sleep in Child Care, Lead Poisoning Facts, Forms and Regulations. Per Title 22, Division 12, Chapter 3, of the California Code of Regulations, no deficiencies are cited. An exit interview was conducted, a copy of this report was read and provided to the Licensee. This report shall me made available to the public upon request. LIC 9213 Notice of Site Visit was provided and required to be posted for 30 days.
