What the inspector wrote

On 5/14/2025 Licensing Program Analyst, LPA Ortega conducted a case management inspection. Upon arrival LPA observed 9 children in care; three infants, 6 preschool children and two staff providing care and supervision. At about 3:45 p.m. two additional school age children arrived. LPA observed one infant(1) in a playpen sleeping with a pillow, infant lounger with bumper padding and a blue weighted sensory compressor on Infant #1's mid body while napping. According to Licensee the playpen seemed to need padding on the layout and thought it would be more comfortable for infant. Licensee stated the sensory item is a form of comfort to children. According to Title 22 Infant safe sleep regulation- 102425(b)(2). This poses an immediate risk to children in care. Based on LPA observation, interview conducted, and record review, the preponderance of evidence standard has been met, therefore through the California Code of Regulations, Title 22, Division 12 Chapter 1, 102417(d) Operation of a Family Child Care Home is being cited on attached LIC9099D. One Type A citation was issued today. Licensee is aware for the next 12 months any new enrollment shall be given a copy of the report with a LIC9224 to sign and provide current families enrolled with a copy of report including the D page cited Type A and LIC9224 and file LIC9224 signed in each child's file. The following violation(s) of the California Code of Regulations, Title 22; Division 12, were observed. 102425 Infant Safe Sleep (b) Cribs or play yards shall be free from all loose articles and objects (2)Bumper pads shall not be used. LPA observed pillows, bumper padded mat and blue weighted material sensory compression over infant's mid body while sleeping. To order forms, etc. visit our website at www.ccld.ca.gov The Notice of Site Visit (LIC 9213) – must remain posted for 30 days during the hours of operation after each site visit by a licensing representative. Failure to maintain posting as required will result in a civil penalty of $100.00. A COPY OF THIS REPORT IS TO REMAIN IN THE FACILITY FOR PUBLIC REVIEW. THIS REPORT SHALL BE MADE AVAILABLE TO THE PUBLIC UPON REQUEST.
