The Director stated that Staff#1 was let go due to not getting along with any of the other staff members working at the facility.The Director stated that Staff#1 would have a hard time performing certain tasks such as taking too long to change and clean up the classroom for the next activity. The Director also stated that the incident involving Staff#1 leaving child in care alone in the hallway did not happen and it was misunderstanding that was caused by Staff#1 not getting along with the other staff members. During an interview, Staff#3 confirmed that the incident in the hallway was a misunderstanding since they (Staff#3) was with staff#1 counting the children before going outside. There was 1 child that was walking towards the rest of the group in the hallway. The child that was lagging was observed by another staff member (Staff#4) and made a remark that implied that the child that was walking was left alone by Staff#1. Staff#3 stated that they informed Staff#4 that the child was not left alone and was just walking to join the rest of the children waiting by the front entrance to go outside. While Staff#1 was let go on 12/21/2023 it is not clear if the incident's specified by the complaint did occur. Interviews conducted with currently employed staff members did not produce any evidence that supported or went against the specific allegation. The Director stated that children in the preschool are capped at 12 children per classroom so even if Staff#1 took too long during a break, the ratio and supervision would not have been effected. Based on the evidence collected during the investigation, the allegations that Staff do not properly supervise children in care may be valid. However, there is not enough preponderance of evidence to prove the alleged violation(s) did or did not occur, therefore at this time the above allegation is found to be unsubstantiated. Failure to maintain posting will result in a civil penalty of $100.00 dollars.
