What the inspector wrote

Licensing Program Analysts (LPAs) Portia Bowden and Jeanette Estrada conducted an unannounced proof of correction (POC) inspection at the above facility. Upon arrival at 1:00PM, LPAs met with Assistant Destiny Villalobos explained the purpose for our visit, and were guided on a tour of the facility. There were 3 children in care present during today's inspection. All adults in the facility have current criminal background clearance. Per Assistant Destiny, Licensee is currently at a doctor’s appointment. Per Assistant the hours of operation are Monday – Sunday 23 hours per day. Licensee was reminded that care can never exceed 24 hours. At 1:45PM Licensee Jennipher Patrick arrived at the facility. On October 4, 2024 LPAs issued 4 Type A and 2 Type B deficiencies. During today’s visit LPAs observed baby gates preventing access into off limit kitchen and laundry area. LPAs observed no poisons, scissors or medication in the kitchen. LPAs observed fire extinguisher with receipt purchase date of 10/7/24. LPAs observed entrance to off limit garage previously being used as an activity space to be blocked an inaccessible to children in care. Per Licensee she would like use of the garage, therefore a new fire inspection request will be submitted. LPAs observed deep freezer to be removed from the backyard area, all toys in the backyard were age appropriate and free of obstructions. Licensee had a POC for staff records. The licensee did not comply with CCR 1596.8662(b)(1), in 1out 2 staff files that did not have completed documents which posed an immediate health, safety or personal rights risk to persons in care. Licensee emailed LPA Portia Bowden current CPR and current immunizations for Assistant Destiny Villalobos. At 2:00PM LPAs observed hanging chords from television mounted on wall in bedroom being used for daycare. LPAs advised licensee to have chords fixed to the wall to prevent hazards to children in care. 1 Technical Violation for the hanging tv chords will be issued today Exit interview conducted with licensee Jennipher Patrick, Report provided, notice of site visit given, licensee was reminded to post in a prominent place for 30 days.
