Inspector’s narrative

What the inspector wrote

On 9/30/2024 Licensing Program Manager (LPM) Cynthia Brannon, Licensing Program Analysts (LPAs) Behatriz Gonzalez and Brandon Tate conducted a Case Management Inspection and was met by Gabriella Gutierrez. This facility provides care to infant, preschool and toddler options. Today\342\200\231s inspection was licensee initiated for the purpose of inspecting newly added playground equipment and storage shed for the toddler option. During today\342\200\231s inspection, LPAs toured facility, inside and outside, and took a census of the preschool program. During today\342\200\231s inspection, the outdoor measurements were taken and reviewed with director, Gabriella Gutierrez. The approximate outside play yard measurement is 2751 square feet, which meets the requirement for capacity of 8 toddler children, as specified on the license. Also, it was observed by LPM that there was a small rip in the shade coverage of the sand box area within the toddler play yard. Work order was confirmed by LPA to by sent on 7/18/2024, however, there was a wrong sized shade cover. Another work order was placed on 09/06/2024 for the correct shade cover size. The newly added play structure age-appropriate sticker is for 18 months to 5 years. Two areas of concern are the block stairs and the steep slope of one slide. Per area manager Yareny Pumarejo, when children are playing on the play structure, staff will be stationed at the area between the block stairs and the slide with a steeper slope to ensure the health and safety needs of children in care are being met. As of today, the play area and play structure for the toddler option has been approved for use. Exit interview was conducted with Site Director, Gabriella Gutierrez. A copy of LIC 809, notice of site visit, and appeal rights were given.
