Routine inspection·June 17, 2021

On Thursday, June 17th, 2021, at 9:22am, Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Blake Morillas met with the Licensee, Jennifer Allen, for the purpose of an unannounced Annual Required inspection. The Licensee's helper was also present upon arrival. All individuals subject to criminal background review have obtained a criminal record clearance. At 9:22am, 3 preschool age children and 5 school age children were observed. Operating hours are 6:30am to 5:30pm, Monday through Friday. At 9:24am , LPA initiated a health and safety inspection of all areas accessible to children. Off-limits areas include the Attached Apartment, Basement, and Master Closet . Licensee acknowledged that children may never enter these off-limit areas. The Licensee requested the previous off limits area of the "First Bedroom" be made into an on limits area. The room was inspected and approved to be an on limits area. LPA observed a working phone, fire extinguisher, and functioning smoke and carbon monoxide detectors. Licensee stated there are no weapons in the home. Toxic and hazardous items (detergents, cleaning compounds, medications, sharp utensils, items that could pose a danger to children in care) are properly stored and inaccessible to children. *Continued on LIC 809-C *Continuation of LIC 809 There is no fireplace at the home. There are no stairs in the home, but there are stairs outside of the home which are properly barricaded. Safe toys and play equipment are observed. The outdoor play space is fenced. There is a spa and pool at the home. The swimming pool in the backyard is fenced with a self-latching and self-closing gate. The spa is covered and locked on all sides. At 10:00am, LPA began to review Children\342\200\231s files and other documentation. A current roster is being maintained. Licensee's fire and disaster drills are conducted and documented. Preventative health training, current pediatric CPR and First Aid certification was verified for the Licensee (expires 6/2023). Mandated Reporter Training (AB 1207) for Licensee was also verified. Incidental Medical Services (IMS) policy was discussed. When any IMS is provided, an updated Plan of Operation that includes IMS must be submitted to the Department. In the areas that were evaluated, there were no deficiencies at this time . At 10:26am, LPA reviewed and discussed this facility evaluation report with the Licensee. LPA provided a Notice of Site Visit and the Licensee acknowledges that this notice shall remain posted for 30 days for parental review. The Licensee was provided a copy of the Appeal Rights (LIC9058) and the Licensee's signature on this form acknowledges receipt of these rights.
