Inspector’s narrative

What the inspector wrote

(Page 2) There were nine (9) children in care on this date. Licensees both stated they reside in the home and do not live anywhere else. On 12/9/24, LPAs Jung and Thompson made an unannounced visit to the facility for the purpose of delivering findings. LPAs interviewed two (2) assistants and two (2) licensees. Children were not interviewed due to age and developmental reasons. During interviews, licensees stated that they provide care for children and attend to the needs of children in a timely manner. There are instances when children cry during initial enrollment because they need time to adjust. Licensees stated that if children cry for more than twenty or thirty minutes, then authorized representatives are called to pick up children, and this protocol is communicated to authorized representatives upon enrollment. LPAs observed the licensees and assistants attending to the needs of the children during visit. During interviews, Licensees reiterated that they both live in the home. Licensees and assistants provided declarations stating that licensees live in the home. The Orange County Regional Child Care Licensing Office has investigated the complaint alleging (1) licensees do not reside in the day care home, (2) providers did not attend to the needs of day care children in a timely manner: although the allegations may have happened or are valid, there was not a preponderance of evidence to prove the alleged violations did or did not occur, therefore the allegations are unsubstantiated. LPA Lucero provided translation for Spanish speaking assistant (Staff 1) during their interview. No deficiencies cited. A notice of site visit was given and must remain posted for 30 days. Exit interview conducted and report was reviewed with the Licensee, Sarah Cho.
