Inspector’s narrative

What the inspector wrote

Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Sun conducted a case management visit on this date to inspect the new added daycare room and the fishpond. LPA met with Licensee, Anita Bhorapkar. LPA toured the facility inside and outside. Census was taken. Licensee was playing with children in childcare room. There was 1 staff with a total of 3 infant children. LPA completed Bodies of Water Checklist during inspection. A review of the Facility Personnel Report Summary on this date 9/20/2024 indicates that all facility staff or other individuals who require caregiver background checks have received criminal record and child abuse index clearances or exemptions. Licensee informed LPA that she just built a fishpond by the jacuzzi in the backyard last week. LPA observed a 5 ft. tall mesh fence installed on the 3 sides of the fishpond and the jacuzzi. One of the daycare room\342\200\231s window provided direct access to the fishpond. LPA observed the jacuzzi has a locked cover making it inaccessible to the children. Since the daycare room\342\200\231s window provided direct access to the fishpond, licensee removed the daycare children to a different daycare room #2 that has no direct access to the fishpond. During the inspection, licensee\342\200\231s husband purchased the additional 5 ft tall mesh fence panel to install in front of the daycare room\342\200\231s window so the fishpond and jacuzzi is completely surrounded by the 5 ft tall fence. Licensee stated the 3 daycare children will be going home early today around 2pm. LPA also inspected the daycare room that was added to the facility sketch and the daycare room was safe for the daycare children to use as of today. LPA already received the updated facility sketches to reflect the new updated daycare room and fishpond. After the tour of the facility, the following citation was issued on the attached LIC809D. Exit interview conducted and report was reviewed with the Licensee, Anita Bhoraphar. Appeal rights were provided and explained. The Notice of Site Visit was posted. Licensee was informed that the Notice of Site Visit must be posted for 30 consecutive days. Failure to post will result in civil penalties of $100. END OF REPORT
