What the inspector wrote
This is an amended version of the original report created on 1/08/2025.
On 1/08/2025, Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Navar conducted an onsite required annual inspection. LPA and the Assistant Director- Elizabeth Cuatecontzi toured the facility inside and outside, and the floor and yard plan (LIC 999) were verified. LPA then met with director Aimee Valentin. Census was taken in individual classrooms. The overall census observed was 20 infants and 7 staff members. During the inspection it was determined the facility is operating within its licensed capacity and within compliance of staff to child ratios. Facility hours are 6:30a.m.- 6:00 p.m., Monday through Friday.
During the inspection of the indoor activity space, items which could pose a danger to children (detergents, cleaning compounds, and medications) were observed to be stored out of the reach of children. Poisons/Hazardous Items are not kept on the premises. Food is prepared on site; lunch and snacks are provided. Food prep areas were clean and sanitary. Food is properly stored. Menus are posted where they can be reviewed by parents. Bottles and food containers brought from home are properly labeled with name and date and other refrigerated items. Trash receptacles containing solid waste have tight fitting lids. Floors, equipment, and furniture were clean and observed to be in good repair and free of sharp edges. There is drinking water available to children indoors by filtered water. The children's bathrooms are clean and sanitary. Changing table has raised sides at least three inches high and is within an arm’s reach of a hand washing sink. Toys observed to be clean age appropriate.
Children nap on mats and cribs, bedding is stored individually and is changed daily. Sleep logs are documented and kept in the napping area. The facility has conducted an emergency drill within the past six months and keeps documentation of drills, date of last drill is 11/27/2024. The facility has a at least one working smoke detector, one working carbon monoxide detector and at least one functioning fire extinguisher. Facility meets all posting requirements. The outdoor activity space was inspected for compliance. Required shade, drinking water and fencing were inspected. The playground is enclosed by a fence at least four feet in height and is in good repair. The surface of the outdoor activity space is maintained and free of hazards. LPA observed cushioning material sand and artificial grass around outdoor play equipment and other similar equipment. Drinking water in the outdoor activity space is provided by filtered water. The outdoor equipment and toys are in good repair and free of sharp edges. There are no bodies of water present at the facility. The inspected outdoor facility grounds are safe, sanitary and in good repair.
5 Staff files were reviewed for staff present during the facility inspection on this date. Beginning September 1, 2016, Health and Safety (H&S) 1597.622 states, a person shall not be employed or volunteer at a day care if he or she has not been immunized against influenza, pertussis, and measles. Proof of immunization against pertussis, measles for staff members were reviewed and within compliance.
Beginning March 31, 2018, H&S Code 1596.8662 requires all directors and employees to complete mandated reporting training, and to renew the training every two years. At least one staff member present possesses current EMSA approved Pediatric CPR/First Aid certifications, which expires 5/2026.
5 Children's records were reviewed, and there was a separate, complete, and current record for each child. LPA observed and reviewed LIC 9227 Individual Infant Sleeping Plan in children’s files. Infant Needs and Assessments were completed and are updated as needed. In the areas reviewed the children’s files were found to be in full compliance. Sign in/out procedure was reviewed for compliance. Facility uses Dayworks, and each family member is given a pin number that is attached to their full legal name and records the time signed in and out.
LPA reviewed and spoke with director regarding storage of medication and equipment/supplies. Director stated there are no children enrolled at this time with medication. CCC COMPLETED TESTING AND NO LEAD EXCEEDANCES:
Assembly Bill (AB) 2370, Chapter 676, Statutes of 2018, requires all licensed Child Care Centers (CCCs) constructed before January 1, 2010, to test their water (used for drinking and food preparation) for lead contamination before January 1, 2023, and then every 5-years after the date of the first test.
For childcare center licenses issued after July 1, 2022, the licensee shall test their water for lead within 180 days of licensure pursuant to Written Directives section 101700 (PIN 21-21.1-CCP). LPA verified that the lead testing was completed in accordance to the Written Directives outlined in PIN 21-21.1-CCP.

as an additional resource. LPA also informed Director of the importance of checking for recalled infant devices on the United States Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) website at

In the areas that were evaluated, no deficiencies were observed of the California Code of Regulations, Title 22, Division 12 at the time of the visit.
A notice of site visit was given and must remain posted for 30 days. Exit interview conducted and report was reviewed with the Director Aimee Valentin. All appeals must be in writing and received by the Regional Office within 15 business days.
