What the inspector wrote

Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Desai, Ketki conducted an announced Case Management Licensee initiated inspection at the above facility for the purpose of changing classrooms. Currently facility is licensed for 92 preschool age children, 36 months to -6 years old in three designated rooms (Children's House 1, Children's House 2 and Children's House 3 under the Preschool License # 304371142. Facility also has an Infant License with Toddler option component (License # 304371143) 18 Infants ( 6 weeks to 18 months ) are in two designated rooms Infant 1 and Infant 2 room, while 36 Toddlers (18 months – 36 months) are in three designated rooms Toddler 1/ Toddler 2 and Toddler 3 room. Facility is now requesting to move the current preschool room (Children's House 1) into Toddler 3 room and this room shall be renamed as Toddler 3 room. While Preschool Children's House 1 shall move to an empty room and would be called as Children's House 1. There is no change in capacity requested by the facility. Facility Director Ms. Le Sieur, Diana gave a tour of the facility including new Toddler option classroom, Preschool rooms and outdoor yards for each component. Facility has a open lobby area upon entrance, with Director's office space and designated toilets. This space is utilized by the facility for extra indoor activities or during late pick up's. Toilets and Sinks: The three toddler rooms has baby toilets and sinks inside the classrooms. The sinks are easily accessible to toddlers. There is an additional step stool available for the toddler. Baby toilets and potty chairs were observed to be clean and hygiene guidelines were followed. There is also a half door to maintain the privacy and dignity of the children. Toilet training is offered in all the three toddler rooms and stand up diapering is done. Total sinks: 8 X 15 = 120 children Total toilets: 5 X 15= 75(Children) Outdoor space: The facility has designated a Toddler yard, which was observed to be completely fenced, with grass and concrete flooring. Climbing structures and additional outdoor toys were observed to be age appropriate for Toddlers , wooden chips are placed under the structure to absorb the falls. The A/C units are surrounded by the metal barrier fencing and they are inaccessible to toddlers. Toddler option rooms has direct access to their yard. Shade is provided by canopy and structure roof line. There is a metal fencing in-between separating the preschool and Infant yard. Outdoor Measurements : As measured during Pre-Licensing remain current : 4004 square feet divided by 75= 53 children Facility has sufficient yard space for 36 Toddlers. Based on today’s Indoor and Outdoor measurements, sink & toilet availability, center has sufficient activity space to support the requested capacity of 36 toddlers (18 – 36 months) in the assigned three rooms (Toddler 1/ Toddler 2 and Toddler 3) and 18 Infants in Infant room # 1 and Infant room # 2 . Total capacity : 54 children Operating hours: Monday to Friday 7:00 am to 6.00 pm. Exit interview conducted. Notice of Site Visit was posted. Director was informed that the Notice of Site Visit must be posted for 30 consecutive days. Failure to post it will result in civil penalties of $100. Appeal rights presented to the Director.
