TEACHER-CHILD RATIO
101216.3 Teacher-Child Ratio (a) There shall be a ratio of one teacher visually observing and supervising no more than 12 children in attendance, except as specified in (b) and (c) below.This requirement was not met by: Based on staff and parent interviews, the licensee did not comply with the section cited above. LPA interviewed six staff. Three out of six staff stated they have been out of ratio. Four out of six staff interviewed stated they have witnessed other staff being out of ratio. On 9/12/2024, LPA reviewed records where a teacher had informed the front office staff they were out of ratio. One out of the three parents interviewed stated they have observed one staff caring for 13 to 14 children alone in the morning during drop-off which poses an immediate health, safety or personal rights risk to persons in care.

101229 Responsibility for Providing Care and Supervision (a) The licensee shall provide care and supervision as necessary to meet the children's needs (1) No child(ren) shall be left without the supervision of a teacher at any time. Supervision shall include visual observation.This requirement was not met by: Based on staff interviews, the licensee did not comply with the section cited above. LPA interviewed six staff. Three out of six staff stated they have they have left children alone inside the classroom when they are assisting another child inside the restroom or changing a child. One staff stated they have witnessed a child being left on the play yard alone which poses an immediate health, safety or personal rights risk to persons in care.
