What the inspector wrote

The guidelines from Kroger is the date on the milk is best if used by, however the milk should be good for an additional seven days after that date. Due to conflicting records reviewed, LPA was unable to corroborate allegation and/or gather supporting evidence. Therefore, the allegation is unsubstantiated.\342\200\257 Although the allegation may have happened or is valid, there is not a preponderance of evidence to prove the alleged violations did or did not occur, therefore the allegations are UNSUBSTANTIATED. An exit interview was conducted and copy of this report, appeal rights and Notice of Site Visit were provided to Yasmin Rawlins. Licensee was reminded that the Notice of Site Visit must be posted in the facility in a visible area for 30 days.

    101227(a)(8) Food Services; In child care centers providing meals to children, the following shall apply: Commercial foods shall be approved by appropriate federal, state and local authorities. All foods shall be selected, transported, stored, prepared and served so as to be free from contamination and spoilage and shall be fit for human consumption. Food in damaged containers shall not be accepted, used or retained. Based on LPA’s observation at time of investigation, the faciity is providing expired food to children in care, which poses a potential health, safety or personal rights risk to children in care.
