    (a) The licensee shall ensure that each child is accorded the following personal rights:(2) To be accorded safe, healthful and comfortable accommodations, furnishings and equipment to meet his/her needs.This requirement was not met as evidenced by: Based off of interview and record review, it was determined that the facility failed to ensure children's Personal Rights due to the high volume of biting incidents which poses an immediate risk to the Personal Rights of children in care.

  • INFANT CARE CENTER SLEEPING EQUIPMENT

    Based on observation, 2 out of 2 cribs did not have a fitted sheet that was meant for that specific mattress. Although there was no indication of the sheet being 'dislodged', it was definitely sitting loosely on the top side of the mattress, meaning the facility did not comply with the section cited above. This poses an immediate health, safety or personal rights risk to persons in care.

    Based on record review and Directors admission, the licensee did not comply with the section cited above in that the facility has not had their water tested for lead, which poses/posed a potential health, safety or personal rights risk to persons in care.

    Fixtures, Furniture, Equipment, and Supplies(o) Playground equipment...(1) Equipment shall be maintained in a safe condition, free of sharp, loose or pointed parts.This requirement was not met as evidence by: Based on LPA's inspection of the infant playground, LPA observed bird feces and outdoor debris on playground equipment and toys which is often used by infants. LPA also observed two children toys with cracked and loose handles. Per Director the children were last outside on 06/17/21, and during today's inspection LPA did not observe any infants in the outside play area. This is a potential health safety, and personal rights risk to children in care.

  • OUTDOOR ACTIVITY SPACE

    Outdoor Activity Space. (d) The surface of the outdoor activity space shall be maintained...(2) Free of hazards including, but not limited to, holes, broken glass and other debris, and dry grasses that pose a fire hazard.This requirement was not met as evidenced by: Based on LPA's inspection of the infant playground, LPA observed animal feces on the ground of the play yard, red ant beds located throughout the infant playground, and a piece of dead animal fur with ants and flies on it. Per Director, the children did not play outside today, and were last outside on 06/17/21. LPA did not observe any children on the infant playground at the time of this inspection. This poses a potential health, safety, and personal rights risk to children in care.
