What the inspector wrote
On 06/22/2022 at 2:00 PM Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Susan Brewer, arrived at the facility to conduct an annual inspection. LPA was greeted and granted entry into the home by Licensee Natalja Barrera. LPA conducted a COVID-19 pre-screening and toured the facility, inside and out, reviewed records, and observed and/or discussed the following: The LIC279 and LIC279B forms, were updated to reflect changes, which included a child that turned 18 and lives in another city, the days and hours of operation to the facility. The LPA S.Brewer, took a census of 8 children present, a qualified assistant to the licensee.

The inspection consisted of reviews of the following domain: Physical Plant, Care and Supervision, Records, Facility Administration, Staffing Ratio and Capacity, Personal Rights. The inspection found the facility to be in compliance in these domains. Deficiencies not cited this visit.

\302\267 Documentation of fire & earthquake drills to be conducted every six months: Last drill on 03/01/2022 at 9:30 AM, 9 children present and on 04/21/2022 Earthquake Drill at 9:30 AM, 11 children present and 2 staff.
\302\267 LPA S.Brewer, observed here are bodies of water on 06/22/2022, in the outdoor Pool and Spa, fencing and self-closing latch were re-checked and were in compliance with Title 22 regulations. Licensee Natalja Barrera understands all bodies of water including ponds, above ground pools & spas, in-ground pools & spas, and some fountains must be properly covered or fenced per Title 22 regulations. The Department must be notified before and after installation of the above types of bodies of water. In addition, all wading pools or similar product must be emptied immediately after use and stored in an upright position.

\302\267 Children\342\200\231s files are NOT complete on 06/22/2022, Sleep logs missing for Child #2 and Child #4, where the licensee was misinformed by an outside agency that the documentation ends at 12 months of age.

LPA Susan Brewer, reviewed storage of medication and equipment/supplies, and reviewed children\342\200\231s, personnel, and administrative records. Consultation provided to Licensee Natalja Barrera regarding the update of the IMS Plan on 06/22/2022.

For FCCHs: Incidental Medical Services (IMS) policy was discussed.
Licensee Natalja Barrera, was reminded that all adults 18 and over living or working in the home, including employees and volunteers, must obtain a criminal record clearance or exemption, or transfer their existing clearance or exemption, prior to initial presence in a licensed Family Child Care Home. A civil penalty of $100.00 minimum/day up to $500.00 maximum per day/per person will be assessed if this regulation is violated.

as an additional resource. LPA also informed licensee of the importance of checking for recalled infant devices on the United States Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) website at

and recommended they register all infant devices with the CPSC to be notified of any recalls on their purchased equipment.
