What the inspector wrote

On 08/29/2023 at approximately 9:50 am Licensing Program Analysts (LPAs) Arianna Manabat and Kyrsten Williams met with Licensee Wendi White for an unannounced annual / one year inspection. During the inspection LPAs observed 7 children in care being supervised by the Licensee and her assistant. All individuals subject to criminal background review have obtained a criminal record clearance. Licensee was reminded that all adults 18 and over living or working in the home, including employees and volunteers, except as specified in Health and Safety Code section 1596.871, must obtain a criminal record clearance or exemption, or transfer their existing clearance or exemption, prior to initial presence in a licensed Family Child Care Home. A civil penalty of $100.00 minimum/day for a maximum of 5 days or, if the penalty is for a repeat violation, for a maximum of 30 days per person will be assessed if this regulation is violated. The home is a two- story home and the off-limits areas include: the entire upstairs, laundry room, pool area, master bedroom/bathroom on first floor, and garage . The Licensee stated that there are no firearms on the premises. The Licensee has a pool with fencing that meets regulations. A health and safety inspection was conducted in the areas accessible to children. The house has a working telephone, fully charged fire extinguisher, smoke detector and carbon monoxide detector that meet regulations. LPA observed all the required postings in an area visible to authorized representatives. LPA observed all poisons locked with a key lock or combination lock. Lastly, LPA observed a screened/barricaded fireplace within the facility. After review of the facility files, LPA found that the Licensee has all of her immunization records, Mandated Reporter Training, and an EMSA approved CPR current. Mandated Reporter Training expires: 2025. CPR expires: August 2025. The Licensee understands that these trainings must be complete every two years. LPA observed that all children's files contained appropriate documentation. Finally, a children's roster and a fire drill log were observed; the last drill was conducted on August 2023.
