What the inspector wrote

Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Payenda Seddiqi met with licensee Rishma Takar for the purpose of an unannounced annual inspection. During today's inspection, LPA did not observe children in care. Licensee\342\200\231s primary language is Pashto. During today\342\200\231s inspection, licensee, licensee\342\200\231s spouse and one minor child were present. All individuals subject to criminal background review have obtained a criminal record clearance. Facility Hours of operation are Monday through Friday from 9:00AM to 9:00PM. LPA conducted a health and safety inspection and observed that the facility is clean, safe, sanitary, and in good repair with ventilation. LPA observed the facility have equipment and toys safe for children. LPA observed that there were no hazardous items\342\200\224such as cleaning compounds, medications, or sharp objects\342\200\224accessible to children. LPA observed a full 2A10BC fire extinguisher. LPA observed the smoke and carbon monoxide detectors are functioning. The licensee stated there are no weapons or poisons on the premises. The off-limits areas include: entire upstairs. LPA observed the current children's roster and fire drill log. LPA observed children\342\200\231s files. LPA observed that the CPR/First Aid certificate was current and expires on 1/10/2028 The licensee was reminded that CPR/First Aid Training must be completed every two years. LPA discussed CCR 102416.5 (d) which discusses the required ratios and capacity for a Large Family Child Care. Licensee understands that children under 10 years old that live in the home count towards total capacity. LPA discussed personnel records needed for adult and minor assistants. Continued on LIC809C\342\200\246\342\200\246 Licensee was reminded that all adults 18 and over living in the home, persons who provide care and supervision to children, and staff who have contact with children, including employees and volunteers, except as specified in Health and Safety Code section 1596.871, must obtain a criminal record clearance or exemption, or transfer their existing clearance or exemption, prior to initial presence in a licensed Family Child Care Home. A civil penalty of $100.00 minimum/day for a maximum of 5-days or, if the penalty is for a repeat violation, for a maximum of 30-days per person will be assessed if this regulation is violated. LPA discussed the safe sleep regulations with licensee and discussed the Child Care Licensing Safe Sleep webpage at: https://www.cdss.ca.gov/inforesources/child-care-licensing/public-information-andresources/safe-sleep , as an additional resource. LPA also informed licensee of the importance of checking for and removing recalled infant devices on the United States Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) website at: https://www.cpsc.gov/ , and recommended they register all infant devices with the CPSC to be notified of any recalls on their purchased equipment.
