What the inspector wrote

Licensing Program Analysts (LPAs) Elizabeth Larios and Pedro Solorio Gutierrez met with licensee Renee Faught for an annual/random. LPAs explained the nature of today\342\200\231s inspection to her. Present were and 14 day care children. Days and hours of operation are Monday to Friday,12:00pm to 5:30pm. The adults that reside in the home are licensee, her husband, and adult son. Helper arrived at 1:43pm. A review of staff records on 01/16/2025 indicates that all Facility staff or other individuals who require caregiver background checks have received criminal record and child abuse index clearances or exemptions. Licensee Renee Faught was reminded that all adults 18 and over living or working in the home, including employees and volunteers, must obtain a criminal record clearance or exemption, or transfer their existing clearance or exemption, prior to initial presence in a licensed Family Child Care Home. A civil penalty of $100.00 minimum/day up to $500.00 maximum per day/per person will be assessed if this regulation is violated. LPAs toured the indoor and outdoor areas of the home during today\342\200\231s inspection. LPAs observed that the day care room is clean and orderly, with heating and ventilation for safety and comfort of the children. LPAs observed a barricaded wood stove in the day care room. LPAs observed safe and sufficient materials, toys, and play equipment for the day care children. All sharp objects, detergents, cleaning compounds, medications, poisons, and other similar items inside the home are stored inaccessible to children. LPAs observed a fully charged 3A40BC fire extinguisher. LPAs observed a working smoke detector and a working carbon monoxide detector. Licensee states there are no weapons/firearms in the home. Off limit areas indoor: master bedroom, one bedroom, living room and kitchen. The entire yard is fenced with an area designated to day care children that has additional fencing. Off limits outdoor: area behind and to the left of the home, area behind the fenced of children's area and a large storage unit in front of the home that has a kitchen, bathroom and one bedroom. LPAs observed licensee has a current CPR and First Aid certification expires on June 2025 and completed Mandated Reporter training on 1/29/2026. Licensee states she has two dogs, two cat, and several chicken. Animals that are able to be vaccinated are. LPAs observed a current roster of the children and a fire and disaster drill log which was last completed on 11/12/2024. LPAs reviewed six children's files and observed all forms are completed and children have current immunization records. Supervision of children was discussed with licensee, and she understands that she must be present in the home during day care hours and ensure that the children are supervised at all times. Licensee understands her capacity options and she understands that she cannot have more than 14 children in the home at any time. Licensee understands if she transports children via vehicle, children cannot be left in parked vehicles unattended at any time. LPAs discussed the safe sleep regulations with licensee Renee Faught and discussed the Child Care Licensing Safe Sleep webpage at https://www.cdss.ca.gov/inforesources/child-care-licensing/public-information-and-resources/safe-sleep as an additional resource. LPAs also informed licensee Renee Faught of the importance of checking for recalled infant devices on the United States Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) website at https://www.cpsc.gov/ and recommended they register all infant devices with the CPSC to be notified of any recalls on their purchased equipment. Licensee Renee Faught was informed of the MyChildCarePlan.org website; a consumer education website that helps families obtain child care by connecting them to child care providers and Resource and Referral Agencies (R&Rs) throughout California . Exit interview conducted and report was reviewed with the licensee Renee Faught. During the exit interview, the LICENSEE RENEE FAUGHT, confirmed that there are no Registered Sex Offenders living in the facility and LPAs completed the RSO profile in FAS. Deficiency were cited. Refer to LIC809-D A notice of site visit was given to Renee Faught and must remain posted on, or immediately adjacent to, the interior side of the main door for 30 days.
