Licensing Program Analyst (LPA), Samuel Lopez arrived at the facility to conduct a Case Management inspection due to the request submitted for an increase in capacity. The facility is requesting to increase the Preschool Program capacity from 205 to 224. A Fire Clearance was granted on 8/8/2022. The days and hours of operation will be Monday through Friday; 7:00 am to 5:00pm. LPA Lopez toured the facility and measured the rooms that are assigned to the Preschool Program. Based on the measurements taken, the following was determined: Preschool Indoor Activity Areas LPA has determined that there is sufficient space to accommodate 271 children. Preschool Bathroom Fixtures 26 toilets x 15 = 390 children 27 sinks x 15 = 405 children Preschool Outdoor Activity Area: LPA has determined that there is sufficient space to accommodate 189 children. * Waiver required* Limiting factor for preschool capacity is the Fire Clearance granted. Preschool capacity is limited to 224 children, pending waiver approval for the playground. - Acting Site Supervisor/Director William Alvarez was reminded that all adults 18 and over, including employees and volunteers, must obtain a criminal record clearance or exemption, or transfer their existing clearance or exemption, prior to initial presence in a Child Care Center. - LPA discussed AB 2370 and provided a copy of PIN 21-21-CCP which explains the requirement for lead testing of water. All licensed Child Care Centers operating in buildings constructed before January 1, 2010, shall test their water for lead. Also, for a license issued on or after July 1, 2022, initial testing results shall be received and posted by January 1, 2023. Prior to submitting the Request for capacity increase from 205 to 224, the following needs to be submitted and/or approved: 1. Waiver for playground to be used at alternated scheduled times Exit interview conducted and report was reviewed with Acting Site Supervisor/Director William Alvarez .
