Inspector’s narrative

What the inspector wrote

Licensing Program Analysts (LPAs), Saraliz Velando and Mahjoba Raofi conducted an unannounced case management inspection for an increase in capacity. LPA met with Licensee, Sadia Aryoubi and her minor sister, Bibi Khatima Aryoubi which helped with translation in Dari. There was 1 child present today. This visit is to verify that the licensee remains in substantial compliance with the health & safety standards as required by regulations governing large family childcare homes. Licensee has all appropriate forms posted. LPA confirmed with licensee that all adults residing/working in the home have criminal record/TB clearances. The home appears to be large enough to comfortably accommodate 14 children. Fire clearance was granted on 5/23/24. Licensee stated her business hours are 24 hours/seven days a week. The 2 level home was toured and inspected to ensure an environment safe for the care and supervision of children. The fire extinguisher (2A10BC), carbon monoxide detector and smoke detector meet requirements and are operational. All poisons, cleaners, and hazardous items were latched/locked and secured out of reach of children, and electrical outlets were covered. There are no bodies of water in the home and the LPAs did not observe any. Applicant states that there are no firearms or weapons in the home and LPAs did not observe any either. First Aid and CPR expire December 2025. Licensee is exempt from Mandated Reporter Training because she speaks mostly Pasto. Applicant will be using the following rooms for childcare: living room, kitchen, and downstairs bathroom. The following areas are off limits: garage, storage closets, and entire upstairs which is made off-limits with child safety gate and door lever locks. The home has a fenced backyard available for outdoor activities and toys are available for children to use. Applicant understands visual supervision is to be maintained at all times when taken off-site. LPA advised no changes should be made to the home without prior notice and/or approval from Licensing. No corrections are needed. An exit interview was conducted with Licensee, Sadia Aryoubi and her minor sister that helped translate in Pasto. A Large license will be granted upon final file review.
