What the inspector wrote

On 06/12/2025 at 11:30 AM, Licensing Program Analysts (LPA) Adriana Macias conducted an unannounced case management inspection in reference to the licensee\342\200\231s Increase of Capacity request. LPA Macias met with Licensee\342\200\231s helper Sandra Curiel Alcantara and also present was licensee\342\200\231s son Abdull. Licensee arrived home at around 11:45AM. LPA discussed purpose of visit with Licensee which is to verify that the licensee remains in substantial compliance with the health & safety standards as required by regulations governing large family childcare homes. Licensee has all appropriate forms posted. LPA confirmed with licensee that all adults residing/working in the home have criminal record/TB clearances. A facility roster was obtained during inspection. Last emergency drill was conducted on 02/03/2025. The home appears to be large enough to comfortably accommodate 14 children. LPA observed 3 children in care during inspection. Fire clearance was granted and received from the Heartland Fire & Rescue Department on 06/05/2025 by Frankie Rodriquez. Licensee has provided adequate space for the children to eat, sleep and play within the home. Areas used for child care are the first floor which includes the Living Room, Kitchen, Dining Room, Bonus Room with Deck (used for outdoor activities) and Bathroom. Off limit areas are the entire second floor located on the bottom level and the Office, Laundry Room, and Garage located on the first level and are kept inaccessible by the use of doorknob covers and lock. There is a backyard located on the bottom floor that is kept inaccessible to children. The fire extinguisher, smoke detector, and carbon monoxide detector meet requirements and are operational. All hazardous items were latched/locked and secured out of reach of children. There are no bodies of water in the home and licensee states that there are no weapons in the home. (CONT ON LIC 809C) Licensee\342\200\231s First Aid and CPR certifications expire on 09/25/2026 and helper\342\200\231s First Aid and CPR certifications expire on 10/20/2026. Licensee and helper have required immunizations, and cleared TB test. Licensee and helper are exempt from Mandated Reporter Training as their primary language is not English. Provider is hereby reminded of the following: Report suspected child abuse and neglect, maintain children\342\200\231s records according to regulation, post all required forms; corporal punishment, smoking, exersaucers, bouncy seats, walkers, and jumpers are not allowed in day care. All equipment that is used should be used only as intended by the manufacturer. Licensee owns her home and has provided control of property. No corrections are needed. A license for 14 children may be granted upon final file review. Applicant agreed to comply with all regulations and laws governing family child-care homes. Exit interview conducted and report was reviewed with the licensee Methak Alzerkany. A notice of site visit and Appeal Rights were printed and issued to licensee.
