What the inspector wrote

On 10/21/21 Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Michael Morales-DeSilvestore visited the facility to conduct an annual random inspection. Upon arrival LPA met with Kelly McFarland (Director) and Hannah Welch (Admin Assistant) and proceeded to tour the facility. Also present were a total of 50 children and 10 teachers. Appropriate ratios and capacity were observed. Furniture and age appropriate equipment is in good condition indoors and outdoors. Children's toilets and hand washing facilities are sanitary. Rooms are safe and clean. Facility does not provide any meals for the children. Drinking water is readily accessible inside and outside the classrooms. All disinfectants, cleaning solutions, and other hazardous items are inaccessible to children through latches and locks. Storage area for poisons is locked. Outdoor play area is fenced with adequate material for cushioning. Area has canopies and trees used for shade. There are no bodies of water or weapons at this facility . No excluded individuals are present. Last disaster drill was conducted more than 6 months ago. There is an operational carbon monoxide detector at the facility. First Aid/CPR was reviewed and in compliance. Sign in/sign out sheets are maintained. Admission Agreement forms were reviewed for some children. Staff records were reviewed. Staff records did not have current Mandated Reporter Training for some staff. LPA reviewed the following with Kelly Mcfarland : IMS, reporting requirements, Car seat Law. Licensee was reminded that all adults 18 and over, including employees and volunteers, must obtain a criminal record clearance or exemption, or transfer their existing clearance or exemption, prior to initial presence in a Child Care Center. A civil penalty of $100.00 minimum/day up to $500.00 maximum per day/per person will be assessed if this regulation is violated. LPA discussed the safe sleep regulations with facility representative and discussed the Child Care Licensing Safe Sleep webpage at https://www.cdss.ca.gov/inforesources/child-care-licensing/public-information-and-resources/safe-sleep as an additional resource. LPA also informed licensee of the importance of checking for recalled infant devices on the United States Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) website at https://www.cpsc.gov/ and recommended they register all infant devices with the CPSC to be notified of any recalls on their purchased equipment. This facility provides Incidental Medical Services \342\200\223 IMS. LPA reviewed storage of medication and equipment/supplies, and reviewed children\342\200\231s, personnel, and administrative records.
