What the inspector wrote

On 8/24/21 @ 9:00 a.m., Licensing Program Analyst, Joelle Redding, met with Director Jane Fabrigas for the purpose of an unannounced annual inspection. There were three older infants with two teachers and a Program Aide in Room #1 and two younger infants with a teacher and a program Aide in Room #2. The facility is currently licensed for children ages 0 to 3. LPA will look into whether this age range is still valid for the program to operate under. There are no children over the age of two present today. Facility is within ratio and capacity. Program operates Monday thru Friday from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. LPA toured the rooms. The furniture, books, games and toys are safe, age-appropriate and in good repair. Rooms were a comfortable temperature during this visit. No hazards were noted. All foods/beverages are labeled/dated and stored per regulation in the infant room refrigerator. Food service area for older infants consists of a kitchen which is clean and free of hazards. Food is brought in by Top Notch and warmed at the facility. The menu is posted. Infant bedding/napping equipment is sufficient and meets regulatory requirements. The outdoor activity space is separate from other programs with age appropriate play equipment. Hand washing and toileting areas are in a safe, sanitary and operating condition. All storage containers or trash cans containing solid waste have tight fitting lids and are in good repair. Infant changing tables have padded, washable vinyl at least one inch thick with sides raised at least 3 inches, per regulation and are within arm\342\200\231s reach of a sink. There are several staff present with current CPR and First Aid certification. Medications are centrally located, inaccessible to children. There is no evidence of rodent or insect activity. The carbon monoxide detector is operational. LPA reviewed, sign in/out sheets, a sample of personnel records for educational qualifications and a sample of children's records for emergency information and medical assessments. SB 792 (staff immunizations) and AB 1207 (Mandated Reporter Training) requirements have been met. Facility is reminded the Mandated Reporter Training is to be retaken every two years and can be accessed at the following website: www.mandatedreporterca.com . Safe Sleep was discussed to include updated regulations, requirements and documents. LIC 9227, Individual Sleep Plans were on file for all infants under 12 months and 15 minute sleep checks were being documented for each infant today. Infant Needs and Services plans were on file and current for all infants. This facility provides Incidental Medical Services \342\200\223 IMS. LPA reviewed storage of medication and equipment/supplies, and reviewed children\342\200\231s, personnel, and administrative records.
