What the inspector wrote

On 10/27/2021 at 12:53 p.m., Licensing Program Analyst (LPA), Michelle Hood and Licensing Program Manager (LPM), Cynthia Gray arrived to conduct an unannounced case management inspection. There were six infants awake and five napping infants with two staff in classroom #1. There were 12 napping infants with two staff in classroom #2 present at the time of inspection. During a complaint inspection, LPA and LPM observed an infant awake with a bib on and two stuffed toys in a crib, while another infant was asleep in a swing. On 10/21/2021, LPA observed an infant asleep in a swing and reminded staff that infants must be removed immediately and placed in a crib or mat. LPA and LPM observed infants napping on cots with blankets and one portable crib draped with a blanket. Classroom #1 displayed the safe sleep documents on the classroom wall which was provided on 07/30/2021. There were sleep logs available; however, the sleep log was not updated every 15 minutes. LPA and LPM advised the director that all safe sleep regulations must be followed. The director was provided PIN 20-24 CCP and referred to the Safe Sleep in Child Care website (cdss.ca.gov/inforsources/child-care-licensing/public-information-and-resources/safe-sleep) LPA and LPM observed two staff with five infants asleep and six infants awake. See LIC 809D for deficiency. Director was provided appeal rights (LIC 9058 01/16) and their signature on this form acknowledges receipt of these rights. Notice of Site Visit (LIC 9213) was provided to be posted at the facility for 30 days. LPA observed form LIC 9213 posted. An exit interview was conducted with director.
