What the inspector wrote

LPA Yee conducted a case management inspection today. The purpose of the visit was explained. The facility has requested to increase her capacity from a small capacity to a large capacity. Present at the visit were the licensee, helper and four children. The entire home was inspect to identify any health and safety hazards. The licensee is seeking to licensure as a Large Family Child Care Home (FCCH) . Inspection Findings: Residency: The applicant owns the home. The licensee lives in the home. Control of Property: The documentation is on file. Operating Days/Hours: Monday through Friday, 8:30 AM \342\200\223 4:30 PM . CPR & First Aid Certification: Valid through 07-2026 . Discipline Policy: Redirection and communication Meals Provided: Morning snack, afternoon snack and lunches. Bodies of Water: None present (no pool, hot tub, etc.). Designated Day Care Areas: the living room, bedroom # 1, entrance hallway, kitchen, and bathroom. Off-Limit Areas (Inaccessible to Children): bedroom #2, dining room, and backyard. Safety Equipment: One 2A10BC fire extinguisher, Smoke detector, Carbon monoxide detector were installed at the facility. LPA advised the licensee to conduct emergency drills every six months and maintain a log sheet for documentation. LPA reviewed AB 1207 with the applicant. As of January 1, 2018, all staff members are required to complete Mandated Reporter Training every two years. The training can be obtained online at www.mandatedreporterca.com . Continue next page. The licensee, Lerned was reminded that all adults 18 and over living or working in the home, persons who provide care and supervision to children, and staff who have contact with children, including employees and volunteers, except as specified in Health and Safety Code section 1596.871, must obtain a criminal record clearance or exemption, or transfer their existing clearance or exemption, before initial presence in a licensed Family Child Care Home. A civil penalty of $100.00 minimum/day for a maximum of 5-days or, if the penalty is for a repeat violation, for a maximum of 30-days per person will be assessed if this regulation is violated. LPAs discussed the safe sleep regulations with the licensee and discussed the Child Care Licensing Safe Sleep webpage at https://www.cdss.ca.gov/inforesources/child-care-licensing/public-information-and-resources/safe-sleep as an additional resource. LPAs also informed licensee of the importance of checking for recalled infant devices on the United States Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) website at https://www.cpsc.gov/ and recommended they register all infant devices with the CPSC to be notified of any recalls on their purchased equipment. Individual Infant Sleeping Plan (LIC9227) form was discussed and provided. LIC9227 is for Infant under 12 month old. When the infant(new born to 24 month old) is napping, it needs to be checked every 15 mins and documented on a log sheet. A log sheet needs to be in the children file for 2 years. On this date 11/14/2025, the California Attorney General \342\200\223 Megan\342\200\231s Law website was searched for information on sex offenders required to register with local law enforcement under California\342\200\231s Megan\342\200\231s Law. No registered sex offenders were found at the facility addresses. Under state law, some registered sex offenders are not subject to public disclosure; therefore, they may not have been included in this search. However, the Department conducts a monthly cross reference of each address on record for all registered sex offenders against all CCLD facility addresses pursuant to information shared by California DOJ. Licensee, Lerned was informed of the MyChildCarePlan.org website; a consumer education website that helps families obtain childcare by connecting them to child care providers and Resource and Referral Agencies (R&Rs) throughout California. LPA reviewed with Lerned, the LIC311D, Forms/Records to Keep in Your Family Child Care Homes, children\342\200\231s forms/records, facility forms/records, and information to be posted. Exit interview conducted and report was reviewed with the Licensee, Lerned. Community Care Licensing Division (CCLD) regularly sends information to licensed facilities, providers, and stakeholders by way of Provider Information Notices (PIN), Program Quarterly Update Newsletters and other important information communication platforms. A capacity worksheet was explained and provided. The fire clearance for a large FCCH was approved on 12-19-2025. LPA will recommend a large license effective today, 01-15-2026.
