What the inspector wrote

Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Christopher Jackson conducted a virtual inspection with licensee Hossai Salehi for the purpose of a capacity increase from 8 to 14 children. The virtual inspection was conducted via Facetime on 03/26/2021. LPA Jackson toured all areas of the two story home that are accessible to children . Al l adults in the home have been finger print cleared through Community Care Licensing. Licensee stated there are no new residents in the home since licensure. Off-limit areas include: Entire Second floor, laundry room, and, garage. Licensee acknowledged that children may never enter these off-limit areas. The Fire Safety Inspection Clearance has been received from the Manteca Fire department, on 03/15/2021 clearing the home for up to 14 children. LPA observed cleaning supplies and chemicals properly stored in the off limits laundry room and out of reach of children. The fireplace is properly covered and licensee stated it is not used. LPA observed the firearms stored according to Title 22 regulations. Fire extinguisher (2A10BC), smoke detector, and carbon monoxide meet regulation. Toys appear to be clean and safe . LPA observed the backyard is completely fenced in and organized with toys and activities for children in care . LPA discussed with licensee that prior to making alterations or additions to the home or grounds, the licensee shall notify the Department of the proposed changes. Large family child care home capacity limitations were reviewed during today's visit. In addition LPA emailed over a capacity breakdown to licensee for review. Licensee acknowledges that when there is no assistant present, facility will revert back to the small capacity. Licensee acknowledges that children residing in the home under the age of 10 years shall be included in capacity Report Continues on 809-C During the inspection LPA reviewed new COVID19 self assessment guide and conducted a technical assistance tour of the facility to incorporate Department of Public Health safety protocols for operating during the pandemic. LPA discussed posting requirements and facility operations including sanitation and pick up/drop off procedures. LPA discussed changes in sleep regulations and provided information to licensee via email, regarding the safe sleep practices. LPA advised licensee of their responsibility to stay current in regards to new regulations. LPA advised licensee to visit the licensing website at http://www.ccld.ca.gov for current forms, laws, regulations and legislation. LPA also included the email address for the children's advocacy program childcareadvocatesprogram@dss.ca.gov . Effective today's date, 03/26/2021, LPA approved the capacity increase to serve up to 14 children, one (1) of which must be attending Transitional kindergarten and the second (2) must be at least 6 years of age or above and no more than three (3) may be infants; or 12 children, four (4) of which may be infants. Infants are children under the age of 2. In the areas that were evaluated, no deficiencies were observed at the time of the visit. Notice of site visit posted. An exit interview was conducted with licensee via telephone call. LPA provided the facility with a copy of this report via email on 03/26/2021. Licensee agreed to acknowledge receipt of the email, which will serve in lieu of a signature on this report.
