What the inspector wrote

On Thursday, April 16, 2026, Licensing Program Analyst(LPA)Elvira Sierra and Licensing Program Manager(LPM) Bettina Engelman met with facility representative, Jocelyn Alvarado Diaz for a case management inspection to follow up on the new requirements for in ground swimming pool. Facility has an in ground swimming pool located adjacent to the preschool playground. LPA and LPM inspected the swimming pool fencing. Pool is enclosed with a chain link fence that is attached to a brick wall fence. LPA and LPM observed that the self latching device installed in the gate opens away from the body of water. A follow up inspection will be conducted to verify the following: -A pool alarm system must be installed that will sound upon detecting an entrance into the water -The entire chain link fence is not climbable (remove planters, and shorter white fence post). -Rescue pole must have a minimum fixed length of 12 feet. -Staff should perform a daily inspection of the drowning prevention safety features and safety equipment before opening the facility and maintain a log of the inspection. -Lockable self latching device must be installed no lower than 60 inches above the ground -Brick wall opening area must be cover so is not climbable Exit interview conducted. This report and Appeal of Rights were reviewed and provided to facility representative, Jocelyn Alvarado Diaz. Notice of Site Visit posted.
