The classrooms have age appropriate toys and furnishings available for children in care. The CCC has operable carbon monoxide detectors in each room. A carbon monoxide detector was tested in the office area at 9:30 AM and found to be operable. The restrooms used by children in care are in safe and sanitary operating condition. LPA observed an operable refrigerator in the office area and noted snacks are provided by the CCC, while children in care bring lunches from their homes. Staff members inspect the children's lunches to ensure healthy choices are provided and the meal is free of junk foods. LPA also observed a CCC menu near the entry of the CCC. Disinfectants, cleaning solutions and sharps are secured in each of the classroom cabinets which are inaccessible to children, elevated and locked by magnets. The play structures in the play areas have adequate cushioning materials to absorb falls and an abundance of shade (CONT. 809-C) created by trees and building overhangs. No bodies of water were observed on site. LPA also observed child safety gates are at the base of the stairs near the elevated dramatic play area. There is available (filtered) drinking water for children at the CCC both inside and outside of the classrooms. Waste receptacles with tight fitting covers were observed throughout the CCC. LPA reviewed posted licensing required notices and documents on varies wall of the CCC. Sign In/Out forms which are just outside of the CCC's entry door were reviewed by the LPA upon arrival and found to be completed appropriately. A sampling of staff and children's records were reviewed. The children\342\200\231s records were complete and found to contain emergency contact information as well as immunization records. Staff records were reviewed and contained Mandated Reported and Pediatric CPR and First Aid certifications. LPA reminded Director to ensure training certifications are renewed and kept current.
