What the inspector wrote

On July 12, 2024, at 11:50 AM, Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Gigi Reyes conducted an unannounced Triennial inspection at above Family Child Care Home (FCCH). LPA met with Licensee, Heather Parizek. LPA discussed the purpose of the inspection. FCCH operates from Monday to Thursday, from 9:00 AM to 1:00 PM during summer and Monday to Wednesday, 9:00 -100 PM during the regular season. Licensee cares for children ages 2 to 12 years of age. During the inspection, LPA and Licensee toured the inside and outside of the home. LPA did not observe, any day care children present except for Licensee\342\200\231s own child. The required licensing forms were posted at the day care area. FCCH was free of hazardous items at the time of the inspection. FCCH utilizes living room, dining, kitchen, 1 bathroom the fenced backyard. The backyard is enclosed by 5 -foot vinyl fence and surface is covered with wood chips/mulch. Bathroom for children\342\200\231s use is free of toxins. Smoke and carbon monoxide detectors were tested and found functional, the regulation fire extinguisher was serviced on 8/14/2024. Age-appropriate toys, book, equipment were observed. Licensee stated there are no guns nor ammunition in the home. Continued LIC 809C LPA reviewed the facility file and found that the Pediatric CPR and First Aid certificate expires on 6/15/2026 while Mandated Reporter Training was renewed on 2/23/2024 and expires in 2/23/2026. Children\342\200\231s records were reviewed and found complete. Control of property was reviewed. FCCH conducts and logs the fire and disaster drills every 6 months, last drill was conducted on 2/1/2024. Licensee, was reminded that all adults 18 and over living or working in the home, including employees and volunteers, except as specified in Health and Safety Code section 1596.871, must obtain a criminal record clearance or exemption, or transfer their existing clearance or exemption, prior to initial presence in a licensed Family Child Care Home. A civil penalty of $100.00 minimum/day for a maximum of 5 days or, if the penalty is for a repeat violation, for a maximum of 30 days per person will be assessed if this regulation is violated. LPA discussed the safe sleep regulations with licensee, Heather Parizek and discussed the Child Care Licensing Safe Sleep webpage at https://www.cdss.ca.gov/inforesources/child-care-licensing/public-information-and-resources/safe-sleep as an additional resource. Continued on LIC 809C LPA also informed licensee, the importance of checking for recalled infant devices on the United States Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) website at https://www.cpsc.gov/ and recommended they register all infant devices with the CPSC to be notified of any recalls on their purchased equipment. Licensee is not providing Incidental Medical Services (IMS). IMS policy was discussed. For IMS information see PIN 22-02-CCP. When any IMS is provided, a Plan for Providing IMS must be submitted to the Department. Licensee, Heather Parizek was informed of the MyChildCarePlan.org website; a consumer education website that helps families obtain childcare by connecting them to childcare providers and Resource and Referral Agencies (R&Rs) throughout California. During the exit interview, the LICENSEE, Heather Parizek confirmed that there are no Registered Sex Offenders living in the facility and LPA completed the RSO profile in FAS. During today\342\200\231s inspection no deficiency was cited. A notice of site visit was given to Licensee and must remain posted on, or immediately adjacent to, the interior side of the main door for 30 days.
