What the inspector wrote

On 8/29/2024, at 8:55 AM, Licensing Program Analysts, (LPAs) Joaquin Mendez and Gigi Reyes conducted an unannounced annual Inspection and met with Program Site Supervisor, Amber Eddy. LPAs explained the purpose of the inspection. This is an Infant Center with Toddler Component. LPAs observed at the time of inspection 17 children (9-infants and 8-toddlers) and 8 staff (5 infant room, 3 toddler room). The center will continue to operate Monday - Friday from 7:00am - 5:30PM. LPAs toured the center both inside and outside. The 3 infant rooms (including the infant nap room) and 1 Toddler component room are used for childcare. \302\267 There is a dedicated napping room for infant at the far end of the building. \302\267 There is a changing table with an arm reach sink in the infant room. \302\267 There are 3 toilets and 4 sinks for day care children's use. However, the CCC is not providing toilet training now. \302\267 There is a separate bathroom and sinks for staff use. \302\267 The rooms are equipped with age-appropriate furnishings and toys and there 2 refrigerators per program. \302\267 There are individual cubbies for the children's belongings/nap bedding. \302\267 The playground is separated with a gate among infants and toddler. \302\267 The playground has age-appropriate toys and equipment. LPAs reminded the Site Supervisor the importance of morning and daily checks of all play equipment prior to allowing children to play. Continue on LIC809C pg2 \302\267 Shaded areas and the surface are free of hazardous item. \302\267 The fire clearance was granted on 6/21/2022 for 27 Infant and Toddlers. \302\267 Children in care bring their own water bottles from home refilled and staff refill water throughout the day from filtered water in the infant room. \302\267 Smoke and carbon monoxide detectors were observed and located throughout the facility but were not tested due to children napping. \302\267 Children\342\200\231s records were reviewed and found to be complete and up to date with all required documentation. \302\267 Safe sleep log was included through the bright wheel application. LPAs observed several infant accounts on the application and observed proper date and times of 15-minute checks of the infants in care. \302\267 Bright wheel application is also used when signing in and out for the children in care. \302\267 Emergency fire/earthquake drills were observed, and the last date conducted was documented 6/04/2024 with 20 children and 7 staff. \302\267 Staff records were reviewed with credentials and qualifications. All sub records documentation was found to be complete. All staff have renewed the Mandated reporter training per AB1207 which expires, general date noted below. \302\267 Mandated reporter training expires 5/31/2025. \302\267 CPR certificate expires 8/14/2025. Site Supervisor Amber Eddy was reminded that all adults 18 and over, including employees and volunteers, except as specified in Health and Safety Code section 1596.871, must obtain a criminal Continue on LIC809C pg3 record clearance or exemption, or transfer their existing clearance or exemption, prior to initial presence in a Childcare Center. A civil penalty of $100.00 minimum/day for a maximum of 5 days or, if the penalty is for a repeat violation, for a maximum of 30 days per person will be assessed if this regulation is violated. Cha p ter 676 , Statutes of20'18 . requires all licensed Childcare Centers (CCCs) constructed before January 1, 2010, to test their water (used for drinking and food preparation) for lead contamination before January 1, 2023, and then every 5-years after the date of the first test. LPAs verified that the lead testing was completed in accordance with the Written Directives outlined in PIN 21-21.1-CCP . LPAs discussed the safe sleep regulations with Site Supervisor Amber Eddy and discussed the Child Care Licensing Safe Sleep webpage at https://www.cdss.ca.gov/inforesouroes/child-care-licensing/public-information-and\302\255 resources/safe-sleep as an additional resource. LPAs also informed Site Supervisor Amber Eddy of the importance of checking for recalled infant devices on the United States Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) website at https://www..cpsc.gov/ and recommended they register all infant devices with the CPSC to be notified of any recalls on their purchased equipment. This facility provides Incidental Medical Services - IMS. LPAs reviewed storage of "medication and equipment/supplies, and reviewed children's, personnel, and administrative records. A notice of site visit was given and must remain posted for 30 days. No deficiencies were cited in today\342\200\231s inspection. Exit interview conducted and report was reviewed with the Site Supervisor Amber Eddy.
