On November 29, 2022 at 2:00 PM, Licensing Program Analysts (LPAs) April Cowan Olguin-Leon conducted an unannounced Annual Inspection and met with Licensee Kimberly MCIntosh. LPAs disclosed the purpose of the inspection and was granted entry into the facility by the Licensee. Present in the facility is Licensee and helper/daughter caring for 7 children (3 infants and 4 preschool age). Licensee lives in a 3 bedroom home where she lives with her husband. Facility was inspected and Day-care areas are: Living Room, Dining Room, Bathroom # 1, bedrooms 1, 2 and 3, (for napping only) play room, and back yard. Off Limit areas are: Kitchen, and 2 storages located in the backyard . At 2:30 PM, LPAs observed the following: Day-care area is clean, orderly, and equipped with age appropriate toys and equipment for the children. Home has sufficient lighting and ventilation. Home has a working telephone, a working smoke and carbon monoxide detector (not tested due to children sleeping), and a fully charged fire extinguisher. There are no bodies of water on the property. There are no poisons, detergents, or cleaning products accessible to day-care children. Licensee states there are no guns or weapons of any kind in the home. Licensee\342\200\231s CPR expires in 1/10/2023. Licensee conducted last emergency drill on 10/12/22 and is properly logged. Licensee provides daily snacks and meals. Discipline policy is mainly redirection. >>> See next page Page 2 At 2:41 PM, LPAs reviewed facility files. Licensee has all required postings posted for parents to review. Emergency Evacuations were discussed. Facility files were also discussed. *Licensee was reminded about having all Staff and Volunteers provide proof of immunization against influenza, pertussis, and measles or qualifies for an exemption. *Licensee was reminded about the Provider Information Notices (PINs) on CCLD website. *Licensee was reminded about Mandated Reporter Training available on CCLD website ( www.ccld.ca.gov or www.mandatedreporterca.com ) *Licensee was given information regarding \342\200\230Safe Sleep\342\200\231 practices. This facility provides Incidental Medical Services \342\200\223 IMS. LPAs reviewed storage of medication and equipment/supplies, and reviewed children\342\200\231s, personnel, and administrative records. A civil penalty of $100.00 minimum/day up to $500.00 maximum per day/per person will be assessed if this regulation is violated. LPAs discussed the safe sleep regulations with licensee and discussed the Child Care Licensing Safe Sleep webpage at https://www.cdss.ca.gov/inforesources/child-care-licensing/public-information-and-resources/safe-sleep as an additional resource. LPAs also informed licensee of the importance of checking for recalled infant devices on the United States Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) website at https://www.cpsc.gov/ and recommended they register all infant devices with the CPSC to be notified of any recalls on their purchased equipment. Exit interview conducted and report was reviewed with the licensee . >No deficiencies were issued today under Title 22 Division 12 of the Ca. Code of Regulations. >This report and rights to comment and appeal were discussed with Licensee. This report must be available in the facility for public review.
