What the inspector wrote
On December 16th, 2025, at approximately 1:35am, Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Tapia-Mandujano conducted an unannounced random annual inspection and met with licensee, Kimberly McIntosh. LPA explained the purpose of the inspection to licensee. Present in the facility are licensee supervising 5 children (1 infant and 4 preschoolers). Assistant arrived later during inspection. During today's inspection, all adults living and/or working in the facility are fingerprint cleared and associated. LPA verified Guardian list with licensee. During today\342\200\231s inspection, licensee is operating within appropriate license capacity.
Licensee owns home, which is a three-bedroom, three bathroom, single level house. Licensee lives in the home with spouse. Hours of Operation are Monday-Friday from 8am-5pm.
Day Care Areas are:
Living room, dining room, bedrooms #1, #2, #3 (bedrooms are for napping only), bathroom #1, playroom (located in backyard) and backyard.
Off Limits Areas:
Kitchen, Bathroom #2, room behind home, and garage.
All off limit areas are properly barricaded.
LPA inspected home, inside and outside, with the licensee for health and safety hazards. LPA observed the Day-care is clean, orderly with a variety of age-appropriate toys for the children. All furniture inspected is in good repair. The licensee has a fully stocked First Aid kit and was reminded to be aware of the expiration of the First Aid Kit. The home has no pools or bodies of water. LPA reminded licensee about water safety. Per licensee, there are no pets in the home. The home does not have a fireplace. Outdoor area appears to be free any hazards.
The home has age-appropriate equipment available for children in care. Licensee was reminded that baby walkers, bouncers, jumpers, and any other similar items are not to be used for children in care. Per licensee, all children sleep either in living room or in the bedrooms. Infant children are sleeping in pack and plays. LPA observed the pack and play to be free of loose articles. LPA observed that the safe sleep logs are maintained through the Brightwheel app.

Per licensee, she provides the sheets and blankets for children that are being laundered at least weekly or as needed. Licensee stated that she also does daily sanitation of the daycare area. LPA and licensee discussed the discipline policy. Per licensee, she redirects the children and when redirects does not work child would take a break and sit.
There was a fully charged fire extinguisher and a smoke and carbon monoxide alarm, and a working telephone. Phone number listed for Licensee is current. Per Licensee, there are no weapons or firearms in the home. LPA reviewed six children\342\200\231s records. Licensee's Mandated reporter training expires on 08/2026. Licensee\342\200\231s Pediatric CPR/First Aid Certification expires 12/2026. Last Emergency drill was conducted 12/2025. Emergency drills must be conducted at least once every six months and must be properly logged.
LPA observed that all the required posting documentation, such as the facility license, Notification of Parental Rights were posted in a prominent area for parents or representatives to review.

Licensee was reminded that all adults 18 and over living or working in the home, including employees and volunteers, except as specified in Health and Safety Code section 1596.871, must obtain a criminal record clearance or exemption, or transfer their existing clearance or exemption, prior to initial presence in a licensed Family Child Care Home. A civil penalty of $100.00 minimum/day for a maximum of 5 days or, if the penalty is for a repeat violation, for a maximum of 30 days per person will be assessed if this regulation is violated.

as an additional resource. LPA also informed licensee of the importance of checking for and removing any recalled infant devices on the United States Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) website at

and recommended they register all infant devices with the CPSC to be notified of any recalls on their purchased equipment.

Licensee was informed of the MyChildCarePlan.org website; a consumer education website that helps families obtain child care by connecting them to child care providers and Resource and Referral Agencies (R&Rs) throughout California.
During the exit interview, the Licensee, Kimberly McIntosh, confirmed that there are no Registered Sex Offenders living in the facility and LPA completed the RSO profile in FAS.
No deficiencies were issued today under CCR, Title 22 Division 12.
A notice of site visit was given and must remain posted for 30 days.
