What the inspector wrote

On June 4, 2025, at 1:08 PM, Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Elizabeth George conducted an unannounced required 3- year Inspection at the above-mentioned family child care home (FCCH). LPA met with Licensee Maria Saucedo and explained the purpose of the inspection. LPA, in the company of the Licensee, toured the interior and exterior of the FCCH. At the time of the inspection 3 children were in the care of licensee. Licensee stated that children have access to the living room, dining room, bathroom, two bedrooms and kitchen. While the 2nd floor and garage are completely inaccessible to children in care. Stairs are made inaccessible to children in care by a locked gate at the base of the stairwell. The home was orderly and clean with proper ventilation for all children in care. The bathroom used for care is clean and free of toxins. LPA observed a fireplace in the living room that is covered and made inaccessible to children. LPA observed that sharps, knives and medications are stored in the kitchen in an elevated cabinet. LPA observed that cleaning compounds are stored in a high cabinet in the kitchen and are inaccessible to children in care. Toys, furniture and equipment in the facility are age appropriate. Licensee was reminded to keep items that are potentially harmful out of children's reach. LPA observed two birds in the home, who\342\200\231s area was clean and tidy. LPA observed required licensing forms and documents posted by the entrance of the facility. LPA observed both a smoke alarm and a carbon monoxide detector which were tested and found operable at 1:35 PM. LPA observed a regulation fire extinguisher that was serviced 4/1/25. LPA reminded the Licensee to either service or purchase a regulation fire extinguisher annually. The most recent fire drill was conducted and documented on 2/4/25. LPA observed the backyard to be completely enclosed. The FCCH was observed to have plenty of shade for the children in care. Toys and play equipment observed in backyard are age appropriate and in good conditions. Continued on 809-C LPA observed one shed in the outdoor play area that is locked and inaccessible to the children in care. LPA observed a fence making one side of the backyard inaccessible to children in care. LPA observed no bodies of water on site. Licensee informed LPA no firearms or ammunition are in the home. A sample of children\342\200\231s records was reviewed. All records reviewed are current. Facilities current roster of children was reviewed by the LPA during inspection with all children present during the inspection noted in the roster. At this time licensee is not caring for infants, so infant sleep logs were not reviewed. Licensee\342\200\231s Pediatric CPR and First Aid certifications are current and expire on 4/13/27. Mandated Reporter Training Certification expires on 1/14/27. At this time licensee does not have an assistant but staff records were reviewed and found to be complete. Licensee was reminded that all adults 18 and over living or working in the home, including employees and volunteers, except as specified in Health and Safety Code section 1596.871, must obtain a criminal record clearance or exemption, or transfer their existing clearance or exemption, prior to initial presence in a licensed Family Child Care Home. A civil penalty of $100.00 minimum/day for a maximum of 5 days or, if the penalty is for a repeat violation, for a maximum of 30 days per person will be assessed if this regulation is violated. During the exit interview, the Licensee Maria Saucedo, confirmed that there are no Registered Sex Offenders living in the facility and LPA completed the RSO profile in FAS. A notice of site visit was given and must remain posted for 30 days. Exit interview conducted and report was reviewed with the licensee, Maria Saucedo.
