What the inspector wrote

On November 2, 2022 at 1:31PM , Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Gigi Reyes conducted an unannounced 1 Year Required Inspection and met with Child Care Center Director, Staci Rich. LPA explained the purpose of the inspection. Prior to inspection, LPA asked pre- screening questions related to COVID -19 and Director responses indicate there are no COVID-19 exposure on site. The CCC operates from Monday to Friday, 7:15 AM to 5:30 PM. LPA Reyes in the company of the Director Staci Rich toured the 2 classrooms and the play ground. There were total of 14 day care children and 5 teachers present. Licensing required forms are posted in the wall along the hallway. Current menu was observed posted by the kitchen. The classrooms were observed to be clean and organize. It has age appropriate toys and furnishings available for children. There are 3 toilets and 5 sinks available for day care children's use. LPA observed carbon monoxide and smoke detectors in the classroom. LPA observed cots for napping Play yard is enclosed with the high metal fence. Outdoor surface is clean and free of hazard. LPA observed age appropriate toys and equipment. Fire drill is conducted every month, last drill was conducted on 10/21/2022. Center uses individual sign-in/out sheet for each child. A sampling of children and staff records were reviewed. Children's files are complete and contain Emergency and Identification Card. Staff qualifications were verified and personnel requirements were reviewed. Staff took Mandated Reporter Training which expires on 10/27/2024. Pediatric First Aid/CPR certificate expires on 03/03/2023. LPA verified SB 792 Child Care Adult Immunization record and tuberculosis requirements. Continued on LIC 809C No deficiencies were cited during today's visit. Incidental Medical Services (IMS) policy was discussed. For IMS information see Evaluator Manual - Regulation Interpretations and Procedures for Child Care Centers Sections 101173 and 101226. When any IMS is provided, an updated Plan of Operation that includes IMS must be submitted to the Department. LPA also informed licensee of the importance of checking for recalled infant devices on the United States Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) website at https://www.cpsc.gov/ and recommended they register all infant devices with the CPSC to be notified of any recalls on their purchased equipment To improve the quality and value of the new inspection process, a survey will be sent to the email address provided. Director was reminded that all adults 18 and over, including employees and volunteers, must obtain a criminal record clearance or exemption, or transfer their existing clearance or exemption, prior to initial presence in a Child Care Center. A civil penalty of $100.00 minimum/day up to $500.00 maximum per day/per person will be assessed if this regulation is violated. A notice of site visit was given and must remain posted for 30 days.
