What the inspector wrote

On November 20, 2024, Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Martina Jimenez conducted an unannounced Triennial inspection at above Family Child Care Home (FCCH). LPA met with Concepcion Barriga, licensee, Yaneth Bernal Santos, Assistant, and Tamara Camacho Bernal, assistant, who arrived at 9:56 AM, to the home. LPA discussed the purpose of the inspection and together LPA and licensee toured the inside and outside of the home. FCCH operates from Monday to Friday, from 5:00 AM to 5:00 PM. Licensee cares for children ages 3 months to 12 years of age. LPA observed, three (3) children in care at the time of the inspection. The required licensing forms were posted at the day care area. FCCH was free of hazardous items at the time of the inspection. FCCH utilizes living room, dining, bathroom, and outdoor play area. Bathroom for children\342\200\231s use is free of toxins. Smoke and carbon monoxide detectors were tested at 11:06 AM and found functional at the time of the inspection. LPA observed a This Report Continued on LIC 809C regulation fire extinguisher that was purchased on 07/31/2024. Age-appropriate toys, book, and equipment were observed. Licensee stated there are no guns nor ammunition in the home. LPA and licensee toured the outdoor play area. LPA observed the exits to be secured. LPA observed there is shading to afford the children in care. In addition, Filtered water will be accessible with individual water cups. The play area has age-appropriate toys and day-care equipment. LPA advised the licensee children must never be unsupervised while the children are at the play area. \302\267 No prohibited equipment will be allowed or used in the home. No baby bouncers, No infant walkers, No Johnny jumpers, No saucer chairs, No trampolines and any other item that falls into that category are not permitted in the facility. LPA reviewed the facility file and that revealed Licensee's the Pediatric CPR and First Aid certificate expires on 8/13/2025. Licensee, Mandated Reporter Training expires on 09/20/2026. Children\342\200\231s records were reviewed and found complete. Control of property was reviewed. FCCH conducts and logs the fire and disaster drills every 6 months, last drill was conducted on 09/11/2024. Licensee, was reminded that all adults 18 and over living or working in the home, including employees and volunteers, except as specified in Health and Safety Code section 1596.871, must obtain a criminal record clearance or exemption, or transfer their existing clearance or exemption, prior to initial presence in a licensed Family Child Care Home. A civil penalty of $100.00 minimum/day for a maximum of 5 days or, if the penalty is for a repeat violation, for a maximum of 30 days per person will be assessed if this regulation is violated. LPA discussed the safe sleep regulations with licensee, Concepcion and discussed the Child Care Licensing Safe Sleep webpage at https://www.cdss.ca.gov/inforesources/child-care-licensing/public-information-and-resources/safe-sleep as an additional resource. LPA also informed licensee, the importance of checking for recalled infant devices on the United States Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) website at https://www.cpsc.gov/ and recommended they register all infant devices with the CPSC to be notified of any recalls on their purchased equipment. This Report Continues on LIC809C Licensee is not providing Incidental Medical Services (IMS). IMS policy was discussed. For IMS information see PIN 22-02-CCP. When any IMS is provided, a Plan for Providing IMS must be submitted to the Department. Licensee, was informed of the MyChildCarePlan.org website; a consumer education website that helps families obtain childcare by connecting them to childcare providers and Resource and Referral Agencies (R&Rs) throughout California. On this date, 11/20/2024, the California Attorney General - Megan\342\200\231s Law website was searched for information on sex offenders required to register with local law enforcement under California's Megan's Law. No registered sex offenders were found at the facility addresses. Under state law, some registered sex offenders are not subject to public disclosure; therefore, they may not have been included in this search. However, the Department conducts a monthly cross reference of each address on record for all registered sex offenders against all CCLD facility addresses pursuant to information shared by California DOJ. During today\342\200\231s inspection no deficiency was cited. The inspection visit was conducted in Spanish and report was translated in Spanish by LPA Jimenez. A notice of site visit was given to licensee, and must remain posted on, or immediately adjacent to, the interior side of the main door for 30 days.
