What the inspector wrote

On February 27 th , 2026, at 12:55 P.M, Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Fernando Hernandez conducted an unannounced required Annual Random inspection at the above Family Childcare Home (FCCH). The FCCH operating hours are Monday to Friday from 5:30 AM to 05:00 PM. Licensee provides care for children from 3 months to 12 years of age. During the inspection, LPA met with Licensee Nancy Ayala who reports (4) adults live in the home who have all received a criminal record clearance. Alongside the Licensee we toured the interior and exterior of the home. At the time of inspection, the Licensee was caring for (7) children alongside Assistant who has received a criminal record clearance. LPA notes the residence is a single-story home, the accessible area(s) in the home includes the (1) bathroom, dining room, kitchen, enclosed outdoor backyard, living room, and family room for daily activities and napping. The areas inaccessible are the (4) bedrooms, (1) bathroom, and laundry room. LPA notes kitchen knives are kept in inaccessible kitchen drawer using a child safety lock. LPA notes the detergents and cleaning supplies are kept inaccessible under kitchen sink which has been made inaccessible to children in care using child safety lock. LPA notes all inaccessible areas were observed to have child safety locks ensuring inaccessibility to children in care. The required licensing forms are posted in a prominent location. LPA observed age-appropriate toys and equipment, inside the home. LPA notes the children\342\200\231s bathroom was observed to be free of toxins. The Licensee confirmed there are no firearms and ammunition within the home. LPA observed no bodies of water. CONTINUED ON LIC809-C PAGE 2 LPA reviewed the facility file and found that the licensees Pediatric CPR and First Aid certificate will expire on 02/07/28. LPA reviewed assistants\342\200\231 Pediatric CPR and First Aid certificate expires 02/07/2028, LPA reviewed Licensee and assistants current Mandated Reporter Training Certificate, Licensees will expire on 11/05/26 while the assistants will expire on 11/04/26. LPA reminded that it is their responsibility to renew the certificates every two years. The regulation fire extinguisher (2A10BC) was observed with a service date of 08/04/2025, LPA informed licensee it is their responsibility to annually service or purchase regulated fire extinguisher. At the time of inspection children were napping, Licensee confirmed with LPA carbon monoxide and smoke detector have been tested and are functional. LPA notes last fire/disaster drill was conducted on 01/05/2026. LPA reviewed assistants file to be complete. LPA reviewed 4 out of 4 children's records to be complete. LPA reviewed infant sleep log to be complete. LPA notes (1) infant children did not have an infant sleep log on file at the time of inspection; a technical violation will be cited based on record review (please see LIC9102AN for further details). LPA reviewed children\342\200\231s Roster and notes all children present are listed on the children\342\200\231s roster. To improve the quality and value of the new inspection process, a survey may be sent to the email address provided. Please complete the survey and share your inspection experience. Licensee was informed of the MyChildCarePlan.org website; a consumer education website that helps families obtain childcare by connecting them to childcare providers and Resource and Referral Agencies (R&Rs) throughout California. CONTINIUED ON LIC809-C PAGE 3 Licensee, was reminded that all adults 18 and over living or working in the home, including employees and volunteers, except as specified in Health and Safety Code section 1596.871, must obtain a criminal record clearance or exemption, or transfer their existing clearance or exemption, prior to initial presence in a licensed Family Child Care Home. A civil penalty of $100.00 minimum/day for a maximum of 5 days or, if the penalty is for a repeat violation, for a maximum of 30 days per person will be assessed if this regulation is violated. LPA discussed the safe sleep regulations with licensee and discussed the Child Care Licensing Safe Sleep webpage at https://www.cdss.ca.gov/inforesources/child-care-licensing/public-information-and-resources/safe-sleep as an additional resource. LPA also informed licensee, the importance of checking for recalled infant devices on the United States Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) website at https://www.cpsc.gov/ and recommended they register all infant devices with the CPSC to be notified of any recalls on their purchased equipment. Incidental Medical Services (IMS) policy was discussed. For IMS information, see PIN 22-02-CCP. A Plan for Providing IMS must be submitted to the Department. The following information regarding ADA was provided: US Department of Justice (USDOJ) toll-free ADA Information Line at (800) 514-0301 (voice) or (800) 514- 0383 (TTY) and link to publication: Commonly Asked Questions about Child Care Centers and the ADA, available at: http://www.ada.gov/childqanda.htm During the exit interview, the LICENSEE, Nancy Ayala confirmed that there are no Registered Sex Offenders living in the facility and LPA completed the RSO profile in FAS. During today\342\200\231s inspection (1) Technical Violations were cited based on observation and record review (please see LIC9102AN pages for further information). A Notice of Site Visit was issued and must be posted for 30 days. Appeal rights were given. Exit interview conducted and report was reviewed with the Licensee Nancy Ayala.
