What the inspector wrote

On December 8, 2025, 12:15 PM, at Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Gigi Reyes conducted an unannounced Annual/Random inspection of the above Family Child Care Home (FCCH) and met with Licensee, Cheyenne Larson and discussed the purpose of the inspection. FCCH operating hours Monday to Friday 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM. Licensee provides care to children aged 0 to 13 years old. During the inspection, the LPA and Licensee conducted a tour of the home, both inside and outside. During the visit, the LPA observed a total of nine children in care, consisting of three infants and six children over the age of two. While conducting the observation, the LPA noted the presence of a bouncer, which is equipment not permitted in licensed child care facilities. The licensee explained that Child 1 (C1) experienced coughing when positioned flat on their back, which was the reason for the presence the bouncer. Due to the child\342\200\231s condition, the parent was contacted and arrived to pick up C1. Following the observation, the licensee reported that the bouncer was disposed of. LPA advised the Licensee that for any safe sleep position exemption, reference should be made to Section E of LIC 9227 Medical Exemption and Safe Sleep Regulations, which must be obtained from the child\342\200\231s pediatrician. The areas accessible to children are living room, day care room, one bathroom and fenced backyard. Knives and cleaning materials are stored inaccessible to the children in care. The required licensing forms were observed to be posted in the facility. The LPA noted age-appropriate toys and equipment available inside the home, Review of the facility file revealed that the Licensee and Assistant both have current CPR certification valid until 7/8/2027 and Mandated Reporter training valid until 1/6/2026; children\342\200\231s files were also reviewed and it was observed that infants enrolled ages 0\342\200\22312 months have a completed LIC 9227 Infant Safe Sleep Plan, and infants ages 0\342\200\22324 months have their naps checked and documented every 15 minutes. LPA observed the regulation fire extinguisher was purchased on 8/5/2025. The carbon monoxide and smoke detectors were observed in the home. FCCH conducts fire and disaster drills every 3 months, and last drill was conducted on 10/23/2025. Nobodies of water were observed. Licensee confirmed there are no firearms and ammunition in the home. To improve the quality and value of the new inspection process, a survey may be sent to the email address provided. Licensee was informed of the MyChildCarePlan.org website; a consumer education website that helps families obtain childcare by connecting them to childcare providers and Resource and Referral Agencies (R&Rs) throughout California. Licensee, Cheyenne Larson was reminded that all adults 18 and over living or working in the home, including employees and volunteers, except as specified in Health and Safety Code section 1596.871, must obtain a criminal record clearance or exemption, or transfer their existing clearance or exemption, prior to initial presence in a licensed Family Child Care Home. A civil penalty of $100.00 minimum/day for a maximum of 5 days or, if the penalty is for a repeat violation, for a maximum of 30 days per person will be assessed if this regulation is violated. LPA discussed the safe sleep regulations with licensee and discussed the Child Care Licensing Safe Sleep webpage at https://www.cdss.ca.gov/inforesources/child-care-licensing/public-information-and-resources/safe-sleep as an additional resource. LPA also informed licensee, the importance of checking for recalled infant devices on the United States Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) website at https://www.cpsc.gov/ and recommended they register all infant devices with the CPSC to be notified of any recalls on their purchased equipment. Licensee is not providing Incidental Medical Services (IMS). IMS policy was discussed. For IMS information see PIN 22-02-CCP. When any IMS is provided, a Plan for Providing IMS must be submitted to the Department. During the exit interview, the LICENSEE, Cheyenne Larson confirmed that there are no Registered Sex Offenders living in the facility and LPA completed the RSO profile in FAS. During today\342\200\231s inspection, no deficiency was cited. Technical Violation was issued. Notice of Site Visit was issued and must be posted for 30 days.
