On January 2, 2024 at 9:15 AM, Licensing Program Analyst's (LPA's) Susana Martinez and Aaliyah Zendejas conducted an announced pre-licensing inspection. LPA's met with applicant Tina McCluskey and advised her of the purpose for the inspection. Together with the applicant, LPA's toured the home inside and outside. At the time of inspection there were no other adults in the home and 4 children present (Applicant's own children). No bodies of water were observed at the time of inspection. Applicant denies having guns/ammunition in the home.
The single-story home has 3 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms, kitchen, living-room, backyard, front yard, and garage. One bedroom will be off-limits to the children in care. LPA's observed a latch on the off-limits room to prevent children from having access. Applicant plans on using the living-room, dinning room, one bathroom, 2 bedrooms and the enclosed front patio for day-care. LPA's observed a barrier placed in front of the fireplace located in the living-room. The kitchen knives were observed to be located above the refrigerator in the kitchen. A regulatory 3-A-10-BC fire extinguisher was observed to be located in the closet. Applicant is reminded to service or purchase the fire extinguisher yearly. LPA's observed a dual smoke detector/carbon monoxide detector located in the hallway. Smoke and carbon monoxide detectors should be checked, and batteries replaced as needed. LPA's advised applicant to be cognizant of possible food allergies children may have. Applicant states meals will not be prepared in home and will be brought from the children\342\200\231s homes; containers shall be labeled with child\342\200\231s name and properly stored or refrigerated.
Children have access to toys that are age-appropriate inside and outside of the home. During the tour, LPA did not observe any hazards/toxins items accessible to children in care. Applicant's Pediatric First Aid/CPR certificate is valid through 05/07/2024. Licensee was reminded to renew her certification every two years.
