What the inspector wrote

On 10/01/2025 Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) German Negrete conducted an unannounced Annual/ change of capacity inspection. LPA arrived and met with Licensee Brenda Anguiano. LPA informed Licensee of the purpose for the inspection. Together with the Licensee, LPA toured the Family child care home (FCCH) inside and outside. At the time of inspection there was 1 child(biological child) being supervised by the Licensee . Facility Hours of operation are 5am to 5pm Monday -Friday. Fire clearance for large license was granted on 9/8/2025. LPA observed licensing documents mounted on the wall near the the entrance including Parent Rights. LPA provided the entry check list to Licensee. The FCCH is a single story home. The main child care room is in the living room. The FCCH does have a fireplace and is blocked off to prevent children from having access(see LIC812). The restroom that is utilized for child care services is clean and sanitary. The FCCH did have age appropriate toys and furniture readily accessible for children in care. In the kitchen LPA observed knives are safely secured, elevated at least 5 feet inside a cabinet. LPA observed a fire extinguisher (3A40BC) in the home, the last service date was 07/10/2025. The licensee does have a combination carbon monoxide smoke detector mounted on the wall. Licensee tested the combination carbon monoxide/ smoke detector at 1:01PM and was observed operable. LPA continued inspection in the sleeping area. FCCH provides children with individual sleeping mats during quiet time if they choose to sleep. LPA observed the mats were clean. The LPA toured the back yard. The out door play area has an ample amount of space for children to play. LPA observed the outdoor play area has age appropriate toys and structures available for children to use with a soft grass, laid through out the yard. continued on LIC809-C Licensee was made aware of the responsibility to know the regulations for Family Child Care Home which can be accessed on-line at www.ccld.ca.gov . Licensee was informed of the MyChildCarePlan.org website; a consumer education website that helps families obtain child care by connecting them to child care providers and Resource and Referral Agencies (R&Rs) throughout California. Furthermore to improve the quality and value of the new inspection process, a survey may be sent to the email address provided. Please complete the survey and share your inspection experience. During the exit interview, Licensee confirmed that there are no registered sex offenders living in the facility/area and LPA completed the RSO profile on FAS on 10/1/2025, Today the FCCH will receive one advisory note. The home does not meet Title 22 CCR requirements for a Large FCCH (See LIC812). The Large License will be pending managers review. Exit interview conducted and report was reviewed with the licensee Brenda Anguiano. A notice of site visit was given and must remain posted for 30 days. Appeal Rights were provided. The outdoor play area has ample amount of shade available. Last disaster plan drill was conducted on 9/12/2025. Licensee stated there are no guns or ammunition located in the FCCH. The FCCH also has a very organized storage/cabinets, where all the arts and board game are kept. There are no swimming pools or other bodies of water present. LPA observed the trash containers had tightly covered lids. Children and staff records were reviewed. In total there were 7 files were reviewed. LPA reviewed the files of C1, C2, C3, C4, C5, Licensee's and assistant's file. LPA verified SB792 Child Care Adult Immunization and Tuberculosis requirements. Licensee does have current Pediatric CPR/First-Aid certificates that are valid until 4/25/2026 . The Licensees mandated reported training is current and will 5/18/2026 and assistants will expire on 8/18/2026. Licensee was reminded that all adults 18 and over, including employees and volunteers, except as specified in Health and Safety Code section 1596.871, must obtain a criminal record clearance or exemption, or transfer their existing clearance or exemption, prior to initial presence in a Child Care Center. A civil penalty of $100.00 minimum/day for a maximum of 5 days or, if the penalty is for a repeat violation, for a maximum of 30 days per person will be assessed if this regulation is violated. This FCCH does not provide Incidental Medical Services \342\200\223 IMS. Incidental Medical Services (IMS) policy was discussed. For IMS information see PIN 22-02- CCP. When any IMS is provided, an updated Plan of Operation that includes IMS must be submitted to the Department. LPA also informed licensee of the importance of checking for recalled infant devices on the United States Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) website at https://www.cpsc.gov/ and recommended they register all infant devices with the CPSC to be notified of any recalls on their purchased equipment.
