What the inspector wrote

Licensing Program Analysts (LPAs) Jennifer "Jen" Beehler and Marilou Monico conducted an unannounced case management inspection and met with Danna Osborn, Site Director. LPAs toured the playground and observed a water table with standing water and toys. There were two buckets that were filled with water on the other side of at least a 2ft fence that also had a few toys inside it. Photos were taken during the inspection. LPAs notified Site Director Danna Osborn of the standing water. Director immediately emptied buckets and table. As a result of this inspection, a Type-B Deficiency was sited on the following page. A NOTICE OF SITE VISIT WAS ISSUED, POSTED NEAR THE ENTRANCE TO THE FACILITY, AND MUST REMAIN POSTED FOR 30 DAYS.

    Outdoor Activity Space: The playground shall be enclosed by a fence to protect children and to keep them in the outdoor activity area. The fence shall be at least four feet high.This requirement was not met as evidence by; LPAs observed the fence surrounding the playground was over 4 feet, however the gate was shorter than 4 feet. This posses a potential risk to the health, safety and personal rights of children in care.

    Buildings and Grounds: All licensees shall ensure the inaccessibility of pools, including swimming pools (in-ground and above-ground), fixed-in-place wading pools, hot tubs, spas, fish ponds or similar bodies of water, through a pool cover or by surrounding the pool with a fence. The above requirement was not met as evidence by: LPAs observed standing water in the water table, two buckets filled with water on the other side of at least a 2ft fence. This posses a potential risk to the health, safety and personal rights of children in care.
