Inspector’s narrative

What the inspector wrote

Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Marilou Monico conducted a Case Management Inspection in response to Licensee's request to add one bedroom (Daycare Nap Room) and the kitchen for the daycare. LPA met with Licensee, Chen Ming, and explained to her the purpose of today's visit. Also present in the home were two adult assistants (S1 & S2) & five daycare children: 1 infant and 4 preschool age. Fire clearance was granted on November 14, 2025. It was noted on the fire clearance that the kitchen is for staff to prepare meals. Licensee stated that she was informed by the fire inspector that the kitchen is for staff use only and not for the daycare children. LPA toured the home both indoor and outdoor. Cleaning products, sharp objects, and other similar items were stored out of reach of children. LPA observed that the kitchen area and dining area are barricaded with book shelves. Off limit areas: 2 bedrooms, 1 bathroom, kitchen, dining area, and garage. Licensee submitted an updated facility sketch during the inspection. LPA advised Licensee that the Daycare Nap Room is approved for the daycare and the kitchen is for staff use only. There were no deficiencies cited. Exit interview conducted and the report was reviewed with Licensee, Ming Chen. Copy of appeal rights was provided to Licensee. A Notice of Site Visit was issued and must remain posted for 30 days.
