    Personal Rights (a) The licensee shall ensure that each child is accorded the following personal rights: (1) To be accorded dignity in his/her personal relationships with staff and other persons. This requirement is not met as evidenced by: Based on interviews conducted, staff have been observed to yell at children when they are not listening to staff. This poses an immediate risk to the health, safety and personal rights of children in care.

This requirement is not met as evidenced by: Based on interviews conducted, staff have been observed to shake children and tap them on their forehead when not listening. This poses an immediate risk to the health, safety and personal rights of children in care.

  • PERSONAL RIGHTS

    Personal Rights (a) (3) To be free from corporal or unusual punishment, infliction of pain, humiliation, intimidation, ridicule, coercion, threat, mental abuse or other actions of a punitive nature including but not limited to: interference with functions of daily living including eating, sleeping or toileting; or withholding of shelter, clothing, medication or aids to physical functioning. This requirement is not met as evidenced by: Based on interviews conducted, staff have been observed to take away children’s snack, food or chair if they are not listening and cause the children to be upset. Staff have been observed to take away child’s bedding, throw it aside and have them stand up as a form of punishment when not napping. Staff have been observed to inform children that they will not be picked up by parents as a form of punishment. This poses an immediate risk to the health, safety and personal rights of children in care.
