What the inspector wrote

A prelicensing inspection was conducted today at 2:00pm by Licensing Program Analyst (LPA), Nicolette Cunningham. LPA met with applicant Angie Valvero. The applicant is requesting a license for a capacity of 8. The facility will Monday - Friday, 7am to 7:00pm. The residence is a 5 bedroom/ 2 bath one story home. There are currently three adults living in the home. The home and yard were toured. The following areas will be off limits to children: three bedrooms and garage. This area will be made inaccessible by means of chain locks and and a baby gate. The applicant stated no Poisons are stored on the property. The home is equipped with a working smoke detector, fire extinguisher and carbon monoxide detector. The children will use the backyard as the outdoor play area which is fully fenced. There is an above ground pool on the side yard. LPA reviewed with applicant the LIC 311D, Forms/Records To Keep In Your Family Child Care Home, children\342\200\231s forms/records, facility forms/records, and information to be posted. Continued on 809C Applicant was reminded that all adults 18 and over living in the home, persons who provide care and supervision to children, and staff who have contact with children, including employees and volunteers, must obtain a criminal record clearance or exemption, or transfer their existing clearance or exemption, prior to initial presence in a licensed Family Child Care Home. A civil penalty of $100.00 minimum/day up to $500.00 maximum per day/per person will be assessed if this regulation is violated. LPA discussed the safe sleep regulations with applicant and discussed the Child Care Licensing Safe Sleep webpage at https://www.cdss.ca.gov/inforesources/child-care-licensing/public-information-and-resources/safe-sleep as an additional resource. LPA also informed applicant/licensee/facility representative of the importance of checking for recalled infant devices on the United States Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) website at https://www.cpsc.gov/ and recommended they register all infant devices with the CPSC to be notified of any recalls on their purchased equipment. *Continued on 809C Community Care Licensing Division (CCLD) regularly sends information to licensed facilities, providers, and stakeholders by way of Provider Information Notices (PIN), Program Quarterly Update Newsletters and other important information communication platform. To receive important licensee related information to licensed facilities, visit the CCLD Important Information website at https://www.cdss.ca.gov/inforesources/community-care-licensing/subscribe and select the Child Care option to receive email communication. The following items need to be completed prior to the granting of license: 1. transfer fingerprint clearance to application number 2. obtain fingerprint clearance for household member and tenant 3. provide proof of mandated reporter training 4. provide updated facility sketch (floor plan and yard) 5. provide proof of control of property 6. secure large furniture to the wall 7. add child proof locks to cabinets in bathroom and laundry room 8. remove large items from top of cabinets 9. secure gate around wood stove 10. remove body of water in duck house 11. ensure trampoline is installed according to manufacture guidelines 12. ensure above ground pool is inaccessible 13. add chain locks to doors leading into off-limit areas 14. ensure all poisons are locked under key or combination lock 15. proof of negative tb test for household member and tenant Exit interview conducted and report was reviewed with the applicant Angie Valvero.
