What the inspector wrote

On 3/8/23, Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Joseph Pacheco conducted an unannounced case management inspection. LPA met with Director, Billda Maberry to discuss Community Care Licensing (CCL) regulations. LPA toured the facility inside and outside. A census was obtained. During the inspection, LPA observed broken play equipment. LPA also observed a missing door knob. Both items observed were exposing pointed parts. LPA reviewed facility records and observed that facility has not been keeping a children's roster. Per Title 22, Division 12, Chapter 1, of the California Code of Regulations, the following deficiencies are being cited: (see next page, 809 D). Director was provided a copy of their appeal rights. Exit interview conducted and report was reviewed with Director, Billda Maberry This report shall be made available to the public upon request. A notice of site visit was given and must remain posted for 30 days. Failure to comply with posting requirements shall result in an immediate civil penalty of $100.

    BUILDINGS AND GROUNDS

    Buildings and Grounds. The child care center shall be clean, safe, sanitary and in good repair at all times to ensure the safety and well-being of children, employees and visitors. This requirement was not met as evidenced by LPA observation. During today’s inspection LPA observed outside a big wheel toy with both pedals missing. LPA also observed a door with a missing door knob. The missing items caused pointed parts to be exposed. This is a potential risk to the health, safety or personal rights of children in care.

    ARTICLE 2. Administration of Child Day Care Licensing

    Current roster of children provided care in facility required. Each child day care facility shall maintain a current roster of children who are provided care in the facility. The roster shall include the name, address, and daytime telephone number of the child's parent or guardian, and the name and telephone number of the child's physician. This roster shall be available to the licensing agency upon request. This requirement was not met as evidenced by LPA observation. LPA did not observe a children's roster. Director stated she has not kept one. This is a potential risk to the health, safety or personal rights of children in care.
