What the inspector wrote

On October 8,2025, Licensing Program Analysts (LPA) Deborah Khashe met with facility representative, Doreene Wolfe for the purpose of an unannounced annual inspection. The purpose of the unannounced annual inspection was explained. LPA toured the facility inside and out. LPA observed that hazardous items (disinfectants, cleaning solutions etc.) were inaccessible to children in care. Facility days and hours of operation are Monday through Friday from 11:30 AM to 5:30 PM. School is open year round. Facility provides PM snack. Drinking water is available from an igloo water jug and filled with bottled water. For outdoor water there is a drinking fountain available. There were (33) children, and (4) staff present during today's inspection. LPA Khashe verified the annual license fees were up to date. LPA reviewed staffing ratios, first aid supplies, furniture, equipment, fire drills and drinking water. LPA observed all required forms to be posted. LPA observed functioning carbon monoxide and smoke alarms. There are adequate toys and equipment available for children. Outdoor play area was toured, the play structure appeared to be in good repair, and there is sufficient cushioning (wood chips) under the play structure. LPA reviewed the sign in/out log and observed that the children were signed in properly. LPA reviewed children\342\200\231s files and staff files. LPA did not observe health screening reports with TB test and required immunization. At least one staff member present today has current Pediatric CPR and First Aid. LPA did not observe any current AB1207 Mandated Reporter Training certificates for staff. Facility representative was reminded to renew the course every 2 years through www.mandatedreporterca.com website. Report continues on LIC809-C... (Page 2) (Page 2) Facility representative was reminded that all adults 18 and over, including employees and volunteers, except as specified in Health and Safety Code section 1596.871, must obtain a criminal record clearance or exemption, or transfer their existing clearance or exemption, prior to initial presence in a Child Care Center. A civil penalty of $100.00 minimum/day for a maximum of 5 days or, if the penalty is for a repeat violation, for a maximum of 30 days per person will be assessed if this regulation is violated. This facility does not currently provide Incidental Medical Services. Incidental Medical Services (IMS) policy was discussed. For IMS information see PIN 22-02-CCP. Assembly Bill (AB) 2370, Chapter 676, Statutes of 2018, requires all licensed Child Care Centers (CCCs) constructed before January 1, 2010, to test their water (used for drinking and food preparation) for lead contamination before January 1, 2023, and then every 5-years after the date of the first test. For child care center licenses issued after July 1, 2022, the licensee shall test their water for lead within 180 days of licensure pursuant to Written Directives section 101700 (PIN 21-21.1- CCP). LPA verified that the lead testing was completed in accordance to the Written Directives outlined in PIN 21-21.1-CCP. Report continues on LIC809-C... (Page 3) (Page 3) Facility representative was informed of the MyChildCarePlan.org website; a consumer education website that helps families obtain child care by connecting them to child care providers and Resource and Referral Agencies (R&Rs) throughout California. In the areas that were evaluated, LPA Khashe informed licensee, (Doreene Wolfe) that this report dated (10/08/25) documents one (1) type A citation and two (2) Type B citations during today\342\200\231s inspection. Also, LPA Khashe informed licensee, Doreene Wolfe to provide a copy of this licensing report dated (10/08/25) that documents any Type A citations to parents/guardians of all children currently enrolled by the next business day or the next day the children are in care, and to any newly enrolled parents/guardians for 12 months from the date of this report. A signed Acknowledgement of Receipt of Licensing Report (LIC 9224), or other written statement, must be placed in the child's file for verification. Exit interview conducted and report was reviewed with, Doreene Wolfe. Appeal Rights and Notice of Site Visit were provided. Licensee's signature on this form acknowledges receipt of this form. Notice of Site Visit was posted and must remain posted for 30 days. Failure to comply with posting requirements shall result in an immediate civil penalty of $100.
