What the inspector wrote

On January 14, 2026, at 10:15 AM, Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Deborah Khashe and Licensing Program Manager (LPM) Bettina Engleman met with Facility Representative, Jennifer Hamrick for the purpose of a required 3 year inspection. A copy of the childcare entrance checklist was provided. During today\342\200\231s inspection there were 26 children and 8 teachers present. Facility days and hours of operation are Monday-Thursday from 7:30 AM to 4:00 PM and Friday from 7:30 AM to 2:30 PM. During the summer facility hours of operation are Monday-Thursday 7:30 AM to 4:00 PM and closed all day Friday. LPA reviewed the sign in/out book and observed all children were properly signed in and out. Facility representative was reminded that all adults 18 and over, including employees and volunteers, except as specified in Health and Safety Code section 1596.871, must obtain a criminal record clearance or exemption, or transfer their existing clearance or exemption, prior to initial presence in a Child Care Center. A civil penalty of $100.00 minimum/day for a maximum of 5 days or, if the penalty is for a repeat violation, for a maximum of 30 days per person will be assessed if this regulation is violated. LPA and LPM toured the facility inside and out. LPA and LPM observed that hazardous items (disinfectants, cleaning solutions etc.) were inaccessible to children in care. LPA reviewed staffing ratios, first aid supplies, furniture, equipment, and drinking water. The requirement to conduct and document fire drills was discussed. Last fire drill was conducted on 12/08/25. LPA observed all required forms to be posted. LPA observed functioning carbon monoxide and smoke alarms. There are age-appropriate toys and equipment available for children. Outdoor play area was toured; the play equipment appeared to be in good repair. Facility provides breakfast, lunch and snacks to children in care. Food is prepared in the campus kitchen and brought to classrooms. There is a kitchen on site that was toured at time of inspection. Report Continues on LIC809C...(Page 2) (page 2) Assembly Bill (AB) 2370, Chapter 676, Statutes of 2018, requires all licensed Child Care Centers (CCCs) constructed before January 1, 2010, to test their water (used for drinking and food preparation) for lead contamination before January 1, 2023, and then every 5-years after the date of the first test as specified in Health and Safety Code section 1597.16. Facility was built after January 1, 2010. LPA referred facility representative, Jennifer Hamrick to the Department website for lead: Lead Toxicity Prevention and Water Testing Information https://www.cdss.ca.gov/inforesources/child-care-licensing/water-testing-information ) LPA reviewed children\342\200\231s and staff files. LPA observed health screening reports with TB test and required MMR and TDAP vaccines. At least one staff member present today has current Pediatric CPR and First Aid. LPA observed AB1207 Mandated Reporter Training certificates for all staff. The facility representative was reminded to renew the course every 2 years through www.mandatedreporterca.com website. Facility Representative, Jennifer Hamrick understands that if an unusual incident occurs, licensing is to be notified via phone call, e-mail or fax within 24 hours, and the Unusual Incident Report LIC 624 shall be submitted within 7 days to remain in compliance. Facility Representative understands that if any structural changes are made to the facility, licensing must be notified prior to construction. There are no children currently receiving IMS services. Incidental Medical Services (IMS) policy was discussed. For IMS information see PIN 22- 02-CCP. When any IMS is provided, a Plan for Providing IMS must be submitted to the Department.
