What the inspector wrote

On 01/27/2026, Licensing Program Analysts (LPAs) Sarah Tibbett and Deborah Khashe conducted a field visit to the facility for the purpose of an unannounced annual inspection. LPA disclosed the purpose of the inspection and was granted entrance into the facility. LPA met with the Director Denise Ecroyd. LPA toured the facility inside and outside. LPA observed 4 infants being supervised by 1 staff member. LPA accessed Guardian to verify that all required adults were background cleared and associated to the license. Director confirmed that there are no Registered Sex Offenders employed at the facility. LPA completed the RSO profile on 01/26/2026. Facility days and hours of operation are Monday-Friday from 7:30 AM to 5:30 PM. LPA conducted a file review prior to inspection and verified that annual fees were current. While on location, LPA observed that hazardous items (disinfectants, cleaning solutions etc.) were inaccessible to children in care. LPA reviewed care and supervision of children, staffing ratios, medications, first aid supplies, furniture, equipment, fire drills, and drinking water. LPA observed all required forms to be posted and discussed updating with current information. Cribs were available for each infant under 12 months old and cots available for infants who can climb out of cribs. A Needs and Services Plan was on file for each infant\342\200\231s file reviewed during today\342\200\231s inspection. LPA observed proper storage of refrigerated bottles which were dated and labeled with children's names. LPA advised to have more light in classrooms for visual on infants to ensure an infant is not in distress during nap/rest times. LPA discussed the safe sleep regulations and the Child Care Licensing Safe Sleep webpage at https://www.cdss.ca.gov/inforesources/child-care-licensing/public-information-and-resources/safe-sleep as an additional resource. LPA discussed the requirement to check and log infant napping every 15 minutes and observed Napping Logs for infants 24 months and under. Report continues on 809-C... LPA observed Individual Sleeping Plan/LIC 9227 for infants during today's inspection. LPA also informed Director of the importance of checking for recalled infant devices on the United States Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) website at https://www.cpsc.gov/ and recommended that she register all infant devices with the CPSC to be notified of any recalls on purchased equipment. LPA observed a changing table within arm's reach of the sink. There appeared to be adequate toys and equipment available for children. LPA toured the outdoor play area, and the play structure for the infants appeared to be in good repair. LPA observed sufficient cushioning under the play structure to prevent injury and available shade. LPA reviewed 2 children\342\200\231s files and 1 staff file for those who were in attendance. LPA observed Health Screening Reports with TB test and required MMR and TDAP vaccines for staff members present today. A staff member present today had current Pediatric CPR and First Aid training (expiration 10/2026). LPA observed current Mandated Reporter training for all staff members present today and reminded staff to renew the course every 2 years. This training requirement may be met by using the Department\342\200\231s Office of Child Abuse Prevention (OCAP) online training modules. The OCAP modules are free of cost and available at: http://www.mandatedreporterca.com/ . The training is currently provided in English and Spanish. Incidental Medical Services (IMS) policy was discussed. For IMS information see PIN 22- 02-CCP. When any IMS is provided, a Plan for Providing IMS must be submitted to the Department. Director was reminded that all adults 18 and over, including employees and volunteers, except as specified in Health and Safety Code section 1596.871, must obtain a criminal record clearance or exemption, or transfer their existing clearance or exemption, PRIOR to initial presence in a Child Care Center. A civil penalty of $100.00 minimum/day for a maximum of 5 days or, if the penalty is for a repeat violation, for a maximum of 30 days per person will be assessed if this regulation is violated. Report continues on 809-C... Community Care Licensing Division (CCLD) regularly sends information to licensed facilities, providers, and stakeholders by way of Provider Information Notices (PIN), Program Quarterly Update Newsletters and other important information communication platform. To receive important licensed related information to licensed facilities, visit the CCLD Important Information website at https://www.cdss.ca.gov/inforesources/community-care-licensing/subscribe and select the Child Care option to receive email communication. Director was informed of the MyChildCarePlan.org website; a consumer education website that helps families obtain child care by connecting them to child care providers and Resource and Referral Agencies (R&Rs) throughout California. Exit interview conducted and report was reviewed with Director, Denise Ecroyd Appeal rights were provided. A notice of site visit was given and must remain posted for 30 days. In the areas that were evaluated, no deficiencies were cited during today\342\200\231s inspection.
